Stheno - Liberty Crawls In Waste (Everydayhate)

It happened so that I write a review on every release of this greek maniacs, one can say that I'm monitoring and describing every step of them, hehe))) After couple of splits and one EP it is clear that these guys should move forward. And it is absolutely predictable and logically that Polish label Everydayhate got its hands on their first long-playing album. So, what do we have here? Well, the guys wrote 13 songs for their first real baby (not bad). The first thing which your eye notices is the art which is beautiful in some way. It is very dark (especially the background with abandoned houses) but at the same time it has a type of elegance. The album itself starts with an interesting intro which multiplies the dark atmosphere of the artwork...Those sounds of chains, they make your flesh creep :). Just after the intro we hear fast, powerful and straightforward Stheno which is common for us. As I have mentioned earlier I'm familiar with all works of these guys so I can see which way their music is going with time. On the album Liberty Crawls In Waste I could mark that the guys have added more metal to their sound, they came back to their black metal basis. Grindcore is present here too but it isn't dominating, while the spirit of crust left their music almost completely. The work has very solid sound, everything is at a high level (as for me I prefer raw stinky sound, but for Stheno the "clear" sound is proper). All songs are connected with each other by one hardly prominent thread which makes this album very conceptual, I think.

Mesrine / G.O.D.

This split made very long way from the idea to physical incarnation. Labels spent a lot of time releasing this vinyl (I guess that the reason was financial issues, as always)... deadline was changing a lot and I was waiting for this split for more than a year! And finally in the end of the year 2015 I managed to check it out. When I heard about this split for the first time I wasn't even surprised because guys from both bands live in the same country and are friends and they have many shows where they play together. So the coming of this was just the question of time. ;) This vine-like red vinyl is opened by Mesrine. For their side they recorded 3 new songs back in 2014. There's no sense to write that this band is a living legend - everyone knows them. On this split you have a chance to hear gorgeous middle tempo old school grindcore. The sound is very powerful and solid, sometimes you even feel like it is pressing you with its weight. The picture of the songs isn't very various, it is concentrated on straight killing power. And I should say that Mesrine have reached their goal. That's no matter that there are only 3 songs but they kick your fucking ass hard! GOD, on the other hand, found some unreleased material from the year 2012. I would confess that I love their old material even more than new stuff. Back in those dayse, before they completely destroyed borders between grindcore and goregrind, their music was mostly goregrind. Oh, I love thos 4 tracks so much! Raw and insane. Vomiting vocals mixed with usual harshness. In addition the forth song is Impetigo cover. Cannibal Apocalypse played by GOD destroys everything! Rating: Mesrine: 8/10 G.O.D.:9/10

Mindflair - Scourge Of Mankind (EveryDayHate)

It took this guys 10 fucking years to release their 3rd album ... but it was worth it. I have to mention that this album made a lot of noise. Labels also did good job here, releasing Scourge Of Mankind in the cassette, vinyl and CD versions - for any taste. The ordinary (as for me) cover hides a good weapon for causing massive ear pain. In their latest work, these German guys gave the last pieces of their souls to forces of chaos. No, seriously, you run into risk of getting cerebral hemorrhage while listening to this - I've warned you. I personally started understanding what's going on after third complete round. It would seem that here is the usual song, rhythm, the whole picture begins to emerge, and suddenly... bang it suddenly changes direction, just like a train that went off rails. It seems that the tracks have their own unpredictable and schizophrenic mind. And all this goes in a thick bulldozer sound. But not only chaoticness distinguishes this album from others. I was pleasantly surprised with vocalist's skills ... he can do different kinds of vocals and can instantly switch between them... 

 After this album, I'm afraid to even think about what they can invent next time. But one thing I know for sure, the new material is absolutely sick.

Stheno/World Downfall (EveryDayHate)

Wow, what a grim cover (but with some certain elegance)! It is very suitable for this split, since topics that are addressed in the songs are full of darkness too. The first band on the split is a German team named World Downfall (not to be confused with the Japanese team that has same name). There is not much of a material, 2 tracks in total... But the first song helps forget this disappointment. Guys just knocked the listener off his feet with their sharp start. It’s a very cheerful metalized grindcore, with a good dense sound. With their music, they remind me of the old German tank called Tiger, which goes at full cruising speed. Speaking of the Nazis, the second track guys devoted to this topic, and it is called "Nazi Crap", I think that the name speaks for itself. But again, once you finish listening to the side - you understand that it is not enough))) I have been familiar with the Greek band Stheno for quite some time now. This is their third release, the guys do not release stuff too often, but once a year they steadily deliver something good)) After I listened to their side, I realized that they are gradually building up power as well as move entirely from black metal. But the tracks now include a lot of thrash riffs, it can be heard especially at the beginning of "Cluttered with blood". But I can assure you that it does not spoil anything, it just adds diversity. Songs of the Greeks are full of anger. Also, in these songs Stheno will explain to you why fanaticism is such a bad thing.

Yattaï - Fast Music Means Love (EveryDayHate)

Sometimes to make the album interesting and memorable for the listener, musicians do not need to do any clever experiments with sound, non-standard construction of the compositions, or some strange rhythm, vocals or other things. They also don't need a beautiful album cover (as in this particular case, because this version of the cover is simply awful, ahaha) Sometimes it's just enough to listen to music couple of times to feel all the love and sincerity that musicians put into their work. As it happens with this French band with a Japanese name. Today I want to tell you about a CD re-release of their latest album, Fast Music Means Love.
This CD has 44 (!) songs. Apparently just reissuing the album in a different format would be too easy for these guys, so they provided the CD with whole bunch of bonus tracks. It includes 16 original tracks from Fast Music Means Love, 5 tracks that were never published and are the most recent records of Yattaï. And it all ends with Alive And Lovin - the live record that was done on the tape.
I think that this album is their most strong and good - the sound is cool and the material itself is incredible. 16 tracks are like a hurricane, destroying everything on its path. Everything is perfect here - the sound of guitars, blast beat drum parts and of course singer's yells and screams. The following 5 unreleased tracks are much worse in terms of the sound, as far as I know that these tracks were mastered by the dude who is not very good in grind... and that's what happened. Live tracks, on the other hand, sounds very cheerful! Sound was recorded from the mixer and was slightly mastered, and it turned out very good. The energy that the guys emit on stage is just tearing the speakers apart.
As a whole, this CD is a great introductory material for those who are too lazy to look at the bunch of other various releases of Yattaï.

Hi Andy, and let's start with our business. Tell us what was the origin of EveryDayHate? 

Hey Alex, everything started in the forests in Eastern part of Poland, in small village of cannibals. I was into eating human corpses and remains, a local duo of shamans started a grindcore band and since that time I'm the owner of the grindcore label EveryDayHate, I'm the true and the only real grindcore worldwide establishment.

Do you have any special criteria when you select bands for a next release? 

Thousands of them, but I'm not sure if anybody is interested in spending hours on reading about it, so maybe I will just depict 6, the most important factors that have impact on my choice:

1. Catchy name, for example I love Weekend Nachos but they have already signed, the same with Butthole Surfers and Anal Cunt. I'm waiting now for new songs from two amazing bands, Suffering Bastard and Cripple Mind.
2. The band needs to be true as fuck, only true fuckin' grindcore, they need to have fuckin' tape in discography, no posers.
3. On debut full lenght's cover there should be skulls, remains and collage with images of war.
4. Of course they need to have split (split on tape, omg!!!) with one of this bands: Agathocles, Suffering Mind and Phobia, if they have with more than one, they become my number 1.
5. Of course they need to be vegan and straight edge, with fuckin tattoos, no tattoos no deal, posers!
6. This one is good one, my fav, vocalist introduces a band and talks to crowd growling. No posers.
