G.O.D. ‎– Grindgoregraphy

Canadian Grotesque Organ Defilement is one of the unusual grind bands of the last decade (at least for me). This trio managed to create something really mad, fresh and noisy. Their groovy, fast, nasty songs conquered/infected many hearts and minds. Through the years, the guys have recorded and released so many songs, they made splits with such bands as Agathocles, Mesrine, Archagathus, Hyperemesis and many others… Well the time has come and 3 different labels (Suicide Of A Species, Garbage Bondage Records, Ill Faith Records) gathered together in order to create a massive discography. What can I say, this release is really massive, this special edition contains 132 tracks! And the idea to put these songs in a special 3 tape box is really adorable. It's a rare and strange format, but I love it. The whole polygraphy is made in the old diy way... these stickers look horrible, hahah!) So let's open this small Pandora's box and take the first tape out… Wow there is lot of different material, different releases, different sounds… and also different quality. BUT, this shit sounds like one nasty bomb! The whole damn thing is a little bit randomized but it's even better, because you will have a chance to compare old and new recording sessions. My favorites here are songs from the album Body Horror, split with Wadge, Destroy Your Life For Capitalism EP and from split with Violent Restitution. I freaking love the way how these guys mixed gore with oldschool grindcore, this mix sounds so dangerous, heavy and fast. They spit all their ferocity and aggression in these songs. A mess of wild distorted screams, buzzing guitar riffs, low bass and incredible drums looks like that creepy monster from “The Thing”, haha!) Well if you are ready for some really savage noises, then this release is definitely for you! PS: I dont know who was in charge for duplication of these tapes, but my copy sounds suck, thanks for that (I hope that all your beer will be warm) Rating: 8.5/10 G.O.D. fb

Agathocles / G.O.D.

I believe that idea of this split was born when the Agathocles visited Canada (and had a gig with GOD of course). So here we are, 1000 copies on nice 4-panel Digipak with folded single sided insert for Agathocles in the right pocket. Cover art for this Cd was made by Polish artist. What can I say...I really love the way he mixed the most famous covers of both bands. The Maciej Kamuda did a great job again! This monkey and monsters from the "Thing" looks so badass! Bravo! Both sides of this split are live records. AG brought something from their old stuff (these songs were recorded on 29th of March 2014 in Geel, Belgium) and G.O.D. part was recorded at The Spill in Peterborough on January 16 2016. Hm... everything's fine but I guess it would have beeen much better to record both bands at one gig (but anyway, we have what we have). This CD starts with Agathocles side. A little bit dirty but so good, these noise sounds are so great. 13 songs are full of ferocity and nihilism. You will be able to listen to some old hits and more or less new songs as well. Raw and angry yelling, noisy guitar and bass sounds, and of course beats from sir Nils. That's what awaits us on this split. Oh, I almost forgot, at that live set, guys played two covers on Lärm and Kuolema.
So, Grotesque Organ Defilement is coming up next. This band is really unique. The way they mix grindcore and gore is so goooooood. Pitshifted and crazy clear screams, nasty and filthy guitar, this all makes me feel wonderful. But, in my opinion, this band stands out thanks to their drummer. That guy has a pretty unusual drumming style, and this is the first thing you`ll notice when listening to GOD songs.

Mesrine / G.O.D.

This split made very long way from the idea to physical incarnation. Labels spent a lot of time releasing this vinyl (I guess that the reason was financial issues, as always)... deadline was changing a lot and I was waiting for this split for more than a year! And finally in the end of the year 2015 I managed to check it out. When I heard about this split for the first time I wasn't even surprised because guys from both bands live in the same country and are friends and they have many shows where they play together. So the coming of this was just the question of time. ;) This vine-like red vinyl is opened by Mesrine. For their side they recorded 3 new songs back in 2014. There's no sense to write that this band is a living legend - everyone knows them. On this split you have a chance to hear gorgeous middle tempo old school grindcore. The sound is very powerful and solid, sometimes you even feel like it is pressing you with its weight. The picture of the songs isn't very various, it is concentrated on straight killing power. And I should say that Mesrine have reached their goal. That's no matter that there are only 3 songs but they kick your fucking ass hard! GOD, on the other hand, found some unreleased material from the year 2012. I would confess that I love their old material even more than new stuff. Back in those dayse, before they completely destroyed borders between grindcore and goregrind, their music was mostly goregrind. Oh, I love thos 4 tracks so much! Raw and insane. Vomiting vocals mixed with usual harshness. In addition the forth song is Impetigo cover. Cannibal Apocalypse played by GOD destroys everything! Rating: Mesrine: 8/10 G.O.D.:9/10

The Vanishing Act / G.O.D. (Self release)

In the last couple of years the Canadian scene reminds me of some footage from the film about the aliens (the point where the queen lays a lot of eggs), there is more and more new bands appearing, and older groups are shaking their old bones as well. The Vanishing Act fully confirms its name, these guys were away for a couple of years and now here you are, a new fresh split with G.O.D. (Album, which made a lot of noise last year). The interesting thing is that the guys are not only sharing the space on split, they also made the front cover together, that's what I call true friendship)) Oh yes, there are two variants of this cassette - for Europe, released by Grindfather Productions in all sorts of colors, and a self release - the main difference here in cassette itself. Self-release is made of semi-opaque purple plastic and logos are painted, no stickers. This option plays very good with the cover art.
Grotesque Organ Defilement begin their part with a very interesting intro that rocks the listener. The second track is already a fast goregrind tornado. Signature snare drum sound - you won't confuse it with anything. I think that's because so many people love this band. Throughout almost whole side guys do not slow down, even when playing a cover of Machetazo. And only in the cover of the Polish Squash Bowels they go much slower.
The Vanishing Act were able to record 4 tracks. The content has death-grind core, but it is very audible and there's also some black-metal experiments included. I still remember the epic ending of "Plagiario". ANd the track called "Dead Friends" seemed almost pure black. By the way, this track is there for some special purpose, guys dedicated their part of the split to their dead friends ...

Grotesque Organ Defilement - Body Horror (Blastasfuk Grindcore)

When I just learnt about these canadian raw flesh eaters and beer grandmasters are writing their first full-length album in the studio, I had to prepare my body and mind. I have seriously waited for this for a long long time. These two tracks uploaded on GOD bandcamp were listened for hundreds of times. Full-length album is always a huge gap in every band's history. So I was waiting Body Horror to come out. I heard Roby (Blastasfuk) had some difficulties releasing this one, rumors about pressing plant were spreading: they tried to load Roby with fake cd's. I really have no idea what happened there, but thank G.O.D. these cds saw the light of the day! Music is solid as hell, you can hear how band is developed through years! 23 onslaughts would bash the last nails into your coffin and the last nail is a CSSO cover! 30 minutes of infernal craziness! Sound production is kinda "lively" and solid at the same time! I would like to point out: different vocals, fat guitar riffs with hc touch and drumming style which reminds me of Idiots Parade guy! The cover art is insane... Holy jesus on a stick, Pierre/Braindead Zine knows what he is doing! Every time i look at his masterpieces, I have a boner! This cover art is dedicated to "The Thing" motion picture. My goodness, how detailed this cover is! Everytime I look on it, I find a new monster....
