These piranhas will eat your flesh and will make a holes in your nice grind shirt haha!) So beware because today, I listened to the debut album from Spanish rebels EntröpiaH! So lets take a first look at this release. Hmmm…. I guess the artist that made the cover art has a strange love of corpses on the sea bottom, ahaha... The front, back and guts of this CD layout are filled with lovely creepy pictures. What I first noticed while listening to this album was the powerful old roots influence. I clearly feel an inspiration the band takes from Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Disrupt etc. Hmmm... I know that this band is pretty new but these old school influences transform this music in something old and authentic. They truly sound like some nasty grindcore band from 90s. Guitar and bass tone are really heavy and massive. They have tons of low frequencies and it`s truly good. I really don't know why but Spanish/Portuguese and Italian languages make grindcore sound even more wild and satanic, hahah! The yelling vocals are so violent and evil. Those drums are great too! They attack with a wide range of fast noisy and loud blast beats along with slow parts…. and I like especially a sound of china cymbal. This isn't intense perfection, this isn't original, but it's quite good and very strong and contains enough intensity to make my head shake!)

Cannibal Ferox / Encabronation (Hecatombe Records)

Look at this artwork it's so cute and evil! What a cute character with a goat skull on his head, and check what a cool soup cook's this guy, hehehe!) But let's cut the jokes, we got here a very strong split between two Spanish deathgrind bands. Let start our acquaintance with Encabronation… These residents of Valencia dumped as much as 14 songs. And mostly they all got a deathgrind color (which is expressed in riffs and rhythms). Here is a very nice and low tasty sound and for those kind of the bands it`s very important. And also I noticed some very tiny notes something similar to groove/stoner metal, this is particularly noticeable in “Canis Lupus” song. And this strange mix with deathgrind sounds really fantastic!

The Cannibal Ferox are not too productive band but those guys dont not chasing the numbers... Their demo work has generated some interest to CxFx in the underground, so many of freaks were looking forward for something new from our Spanish amigos. As expected, the guys did not disappoint me. Everything starts with short intro (from some old horror movie) and then begins intensive deathgrind bombardment with low and dense sound. The guitar riff are sharp like a savages spears, heavy drum beats and the low roar of the vocalist, that how can be briefly described that what you`ll hear here. If you are a fan of Machetazo then you will like Cannibal Ferox for sure.

Torso - Fosa Común (Hecatombe Records)

Men in Spain love to play grind even more than they love women! ;) Periodically I look through different music news from this country and I can say that over the past couple of years, the Spanish underground has enlarged with a plenty of new bands. And today we will listen to the debut album of a young Torso band. However traditionally at first we will look through the printed artwork. Hmm, except the passion to the extreme music Spaniards also like the theme of death... Just try to recall the works of such bands as Haemorrhage, Machetazo, Gruesome Stuff Relish etc. So here guys added a bit of classics... Perhaps someone will say that this art is boring and not interesting, but as for me this dude that ditches the corpses into one grave seems very cute. In the mass grave called Fosa Común you can find such elements as grindcore, death metal, hardcore punk. I can't say it about every band from sunny Spain, but based on what I heard before I can conclude that they have something in common. All of them have similar signature sound, just like with the Swedish scene... And the sound of Torso got this feature. By the way these guys very skillfully combine the above mentioned styles. Sound here, as it should be, is powerful, low and punchy... their singer also uses typical to Spanish death\grind vocals, his half-scream\half-growl fits very harmoniously into this bubbling and stinky mass. And the album ends with a cover on mighty Machetazo (which is played really good) ...

Convulsions - S/T

А fresh blood in Spanish grind legion! Local label Hecatombe Records made a right choice when they decided to release these guys! The Convulsions’ name is not very well known yet, but I guess this situation will change very quickly. And it`s not just compliment because guys really deserve it. It`s pretty rare thing when young band can hook up so hard with their debut work. Honestly I was really surprised when I heard that stuff for first time. You can feel that guys worked really hard and have put a part of them in this record. The sound is really good and “tasty”. The energy, which boys have put into the record, is transmitted and enters into the listener like a plague... after I heard first track I wanted jump into the moshpit!)) I really like fact that guys are starting to press you right from the beginning and they don't weaken their grip right up to the very end. These 10 songs are pretty varied, they have a different rhythm... Convulsions made a very cool mix of grindcore, metal, crust and some hardcore. The songs sound highly lively and unboring and it`s very important thing. If this release was a drink, it would be a top-quality infused vodka mixed with dried bitter herbs that were left in for a very long time. And in the end I can say that this debut is successful. I hope that in the future guys will not drop raised bar.

Always Never Fun ‎– Always Never Fun

Waa, what I’ve got! Fresh Italian band - Always Never Fun with their self-titled album! The wave of powerviolence has blown up from pole to pole with great impetuosity and left post-apocalyptic hell behind! 
What's interesting is that I couldn’t find any demo of this band on internet , so they started with solid piece of work indeed! Actually, it could have turned out to be an undue risk...but, in this case it morphed into a pretty good job. 
I never expected the package from Nuclear Alcoholocaust Rec would be that large-sized… I was very surprised with the ample quantity of releases, placed in such a small box, heheh. Then I inspected them all. Well, “more than ordinary” is written all over ANF vinyl. Album cover is printed on thick paper, and the vinyl is packed in conductive-plastic envelope. In addition, this vinyl is single-sided, and guys didn’t neglect to put their logo on another side. I don’t know whether this print is mill, because it looks as if it was indent by hand (make it d.i.y.! hehe). In fine, the art is flavorful and amusing. 
Now I’m proceeding to ANF music. The material is quite fervent… I would never say, that it’s pure powerviolence, as this album combines a large share of hardcore, pun and a shade of thrashcore. Fast tracks with topnotch bass. Two unlike vocals… just what the nurse ordered! When listening to this album I was minded to dig out my old skateboard and take a spin through my hometown!
