If I remember it right, this split should have been out at least two years ago, but due to some circumstance, this release was delayed. This CD unites 3 bands from the 3 biggest countries of our cursed planet. So welcome Nauseate - India, Camphora Monobromata - Russia, and Archagathus - Canada. As you may notice this is very Punk stuff. The cover is done in an old crusty style (black and white colors are the mainstay here, each band recorded their stuff on their own, this split oozes diy spirit what else can I say? Nauseate is the lucky band to open this mad pit. Their Grind is raw and nasty, in just the right way. Which is cool, because their first release was too messy and awful. This music has many primitive Grind/Mince elements like a moderate tempo, simple and catchy structure, dirty guitar sound and goofy vocals. You won't find anything new in this material, but on the other hand these songs are not too bad. I must admit these guys have matured, they are growing as a band and that is good. Second shot - Camphora Monobromata comes in with a nice rehearsal recording. They have prepared 6 muddy tracks for this CD (and yes, it is old stuff that was recorded 3 years ago). Generally this material is cool, but the sound is too poor and raw (in my opinion), even so I felt real aggression and power through this mud. Camphora Monobromata managed to create catchy hyper-degenerated punky rhythms that could cheer your sad ass up. We have 7 Mincing tracks from the Canadian powerhouse to close out the split. Their anger comes forward straight away; the production is tight and the sound is good. Archagathus sticks to their usual formula, there are no surprises, just old and nasty riffs which will cut your head off, haha! This material is charged with a ferocious energy and it could bite. Buzzing guitar is here, the tone is right so it sounds really great. Drums are pleasantly raw and pitch shifted growling is loud. So what else do you need for a good party? Mesrine - Old School '99 (Uranium Overdose)

Are you itching for real dirty, primitive, and noisy grindcore from 90's? Not a problem! Uranium Overdose has prepared a very lovely re-issue of some old material from the band Mesrine. This limited edition release contains songs from two of the very first releases from these crazy Canadians; a 3 Way Split CD with Traumatism and Nyctophobic + split with legendary Rot. As far as I know, all tracks were remastered. Hopefully, they sound not so messy now (we will check that in second part of our review). The artwork looks like a cover from the 90's or 80's. Simple white and black colors, funny corpse with ripped belly - everything looks exactly like in old days. You may say that this is stupid, maybe you`re right, but that perfectly works with grindcore. The vinyl has nice and light marble green color, it really pleasant to hold it in your hands and watch when it spins on your turntable.   

Side A is the first 8 songs. 45 RPM couple of minutes of cave crazy fun. So the tracks after remastering sound louder, but they are still messy. Drums and vocal are on the first line, as for guitar it is heavy and buzzing (which is cute) but it`s mostly cluttered with drums and screams. Despite those problems, I get a lot of pleasure listening this side. Pure, crazy, wild and so simple that how grind should be.

Side B, 4 songs from the split with mighty gods Rot.  This side is better, guitar sound is louder and everything is in nasty harmony, hehe. But in general, material is very close to side A. Raw and furious, that how I can describe this old noise.

Last words - This is interesting release, and it's worth listening to and worth being in your collection, even if you`re not a big fan of raw grindcore.

Bloody Phoenix / Lycanthrophy / Skunk / Disturbance Project (Dead Heroes rec)

It has been years since this album was released, I wanted this LP so much, but only this year I got a chance to get this beautiful beast, haha! Yeah I know, all the bands on this release are bloody good, I don’t need to go into detail about them… But the names were not the first thing that caught my eye. Look at this artwork, this image is absolutely killer! It was made by Szymon Siech (VBRRTRD.com) and this work perfectly fits with this noise and incredibly conveys the atmosphere of madness from all 4 bands. But, enough about the artwork, let's jump into our first band on the line - Bloody Phoenix! As far as I know this is the final recording from Bloody Phoenix and they are here to harm your ears with 5 brutal songs for the last time. The songs are overflowing with ferocity, each track feels like a strong punch. Savage screams, crazy blast beats and buzzing guitar sound, that’s what we want to hear from this band and we are given all of the above. I want to highlight the last song Bella Ciao. This really crazy song was made with the inspiration of weird Russian groove war songs, and honestly, it sounds very great. But there is one negative moment in this material. The sound is not loud enough, everything sounds a bit dumb. Czech Fastcore warriors Lycanthrophy are honored veterans of the European Noise scene. I’m glad that they are on this split. If you have heard this band once you will recognize them every time. They have their own crazy style and powerful speed. The vocals are especially spicy here, but the riffs are good too. Punky blasting is simply badass and the bass sound makes this mess decent. They recorded 9 songs for this split, but it`s very hard to notice pauses between songs, so this material sounds like one big and mad swarm of the piranhas. Skunk is responsible for the Crust mood on this LP. These Canadian fuckers know how to create really cheerful and groovy music. Simple and catchy riffs, clear structures and a ton of dirty power, that’s what Skunk sounds like. The caveman vocals are sick, and I can say the same about their guitar tone. Goofy drums are here too, together they are creating very cohesive noise, that sticks to you and makes start to sing the rhythms. This band has two members from Archagathus, I guess that is the main reason why these riffs sound very similar to Arch material. Spanish grinders from Disturbance Project are closing this rodeo. This band is very sharp and dangerous... Their Noise comes at you lighting fast, like a Bullet Train of fist-pumping perfection. All the songs are short (it`s a standard of Grindcore) and charged with huge load of energy. This combination of riffs, vocals, and blasting drumming could be compared with a harsh fight. While listening to this band you will imagine yourself inside the cage during an MMA-style match. The bottom line, however, is this is an old split but, it’s still one of the best split’s to come out over the last few year. Burdizzo – Acoustic Neuroma

Experimental Grinders Burdizzo from Toronto, Canada are a 4 Piece of ferocious proportions. Their debut release Acoustic Neuroma is a simple package from the outside with what is clearly an image from a CT scan as the cover art. But enough about that, once you put this disc in your CD player it all shifts directions. Mixing technicality, speed and ear splintering vocals make for one potent cocktail that is hard to put down. The album opens with what is clearly meant to be a joke poking fun at people who act like musicians are some kind of god when they meet them in person. But, from here on out its relentless buzz saw riffs, inhuman vocals and chest crushing blast beats. Each song seems to hit harder than the last, with little to no sign of remorse. From the opening song Mistress right down to Inauspicious, you can feel the raw emotion pouring out through the music. Each song makes short work of you as its victim, with only 1 song breaking the 2 minute mark. Let’s take some time to really talk about them so you kind of get an understanding of what to expect going in. Mistress is a beast concocted out of blastbeats, riffs and monstrous vocals that reminds me of an out of control locomotive. Beholden is a Sludgy mass of primal fury that creeps in and takes hold of you, slowly draining your will to live.  And let’s not forget the humorously named Jesus Christ, Keep Going which turns out is another goofy recording of the guys in the band having a good time in the studio. Very reminiscent of the opening to the album. Overall Acoustic Neuroma is a hidden gem among the absolute treasure trove that is Canadian Grind, definitely take the time to give Burdizzo a listen.
