Rot - Nowhere
Once it became known that the old Brazilian good fellows from Rot got together again I was really looking forward to their new record. I’ve been waiting and was a bit afraid because I’ve noticed a negative thing that happens when the bands reunite and record the shitiest stuff... But my fears didn’t pan out and Nowhere turned out to be very robust! As for the guys, I can assure that all their works are really cool in their own way (even noisy and ugly live records:)) But first things first. This record was released on 7" vinyl and CD by the Polish record company Selfmadegod(by the way, there is no difference between these two releases, so if you don't like vinyl, you can buy it on CD and wear it out to the max in your car player, hehehe). Hm... the artist added some philosophy to his cover art. The man standing on the edge of a giant pit that seems to have no end, there is definitely something in it...
As for the "music part", here are the next things... You won’t hear any super clear sounds or hyper technical musical skill because this is the real grindcore! Grindcore that sounds simply divine. Primitive and evil riffs, raw and rotten sound and, of course, genuine aggression which flows into your ears like acid. This is the good ol' Rot that everyone loves and missed so much! It might be a 10 minute or longer record but it's enough to fully plunge and enjoy the atmosphere of this evil and crude grindcore!
Rating: 9/10 Rot

Suffering Mind - Discography 2008-2010 (Selfmadegod Records)
Well, sooner or later it had to happen. For many years those polish grind freaks from Suffering Mind released so many different stuff, so this CD is pretty logical sequel of their works. Finally a big discography, fuck it`s almost 50 minutes of fast and mad grindcore (This CD is packed to full capacity but the period covered here is only two years... it`s crazy, these guys are so productive). Also notable here is the fact that there is material that is presented here was released exclusively on vinyls, this piece of plastic included songs from "Death To False Grindcore" 3"EP, Suffering Mind LP, split LP w/ Asshammer, split 7"EP w/ Wojtyla, split 7"EP w/ Lycanthrophy, and "Destroy Mankind" 7"EP.
I must confess I have certain passion about Suffering Mind. Their cool balance between dirty guitar sound and vocals, spiced with serious blast beats is very dense. From release to release these guys don't lose their powerful brand and over the years, they have developed their own recognizable style. The crowd of freaks love them for their uncompromising and straightforward grindcore. Social issues that they raise in their songs are more relevant than ever. The golden "classic" theme of infinite stupidity of mankind, wars, planet pollution and also there are songs dedicated to the struggle for animal rights.

Antigama - Meteor (Selfmadegod Records)
Antigama is a very specific and crazy band, and that's why I like it so
much. And with every new album, these guys are progressing in their
insanity more and more ... and that makes me very happy. Their 6th album
can be considered as one of the most outstanding achievements of the
people of Poland. This album is like a good portion of "zubrovka", it
hits the head very hard.
Meteor is stylish by its design but absolutely mad by its contents. Beautiful panoramic landscape of space is very cool and colorful contrast to those 11 psychedelic tracks.
There is a lot of small cool sound things. Guys carefully included some industrial elements to their creation, and it gives some special flavor to Meteor. This is especially visible on "Stargate", this song is great opening to the cosmic theme. And I liked the crazy rock n roll'ish pieces in «Fed By The Feeling», the first time I heard it, I was really surprised. But «Turbulence» will completely melt your brain with its strangeness. Perhaps the most memorable track on this album - it somehow reminds me of some soundtrack to a shooter video game.
And all this goes with firm Antigame pitch. It is fast, chaotic and very aggressive. It's hard to describe - perhaps most of all it looks like a mental hospital, where all patients once flew off the rails and began to smash all around and kill each other)))

Agathocles / Satanic Malfunctions (Selfmadegod Records)
Since Ade Crawford made his own version of Satanic Malfunctions in 2013,
this new band with the old name was seriously approached by Poland
Selfmadegod Records. After the release of their debut album, guys
delivered this split with the Belgian mincecore pioneers - Agathocles.
The artist, Jeferson Pizone was able to truly capture the essence of punk and implement one of the songs of Ag "Grind Is Protest" in his artwork. Especially in context of recent events, when the police allows itself too much, this work has some real meaning. But the nice things do not end there - the booklet contains all the lyrics, so if someone will decide to do a cover or two of some tracks - no internet search is required.
It's hard to remember at least one band that was able to record and publish so many splits (only Japanese Unholy Grave come to mind but they barely reached half of that Ag. was able to do). Sometimes their split are really awful, and sometimes there are awesome, and contain interesting material, and have a very pleasant sound. 9 songs presented here were not recorded in some familiar studio in their native Belgium, but in Brazil in the city of Sao Paulo (in October 2013). The usual line up (Jan, Nils, Koen) was powered up with guest musicians - 4 people were invited in total. Curious fact, according to available information in the booklet, Nils does not touch the drums and just played the role of one of the 4 (!) singers here ... (3 free vocals and Jan bass/vocals). This madness begins with the intro which is more like a voice from hell, with a demonic laugh (but how could they do without it?) and another monologue after it. And then the usual and familiar Ag goes in. Material quality and sound, perhaps, can be compared with the album "Grind Is Protest." But the presence of guest musicians makes this record more interesting, each guest brought something special and it came out very cool. I especially liked the last track Crackland.
