Are you itching for real dirty, primitive, and noisy grindcore from 90's? Not a problem! Uranium Overdose has prepared a very lovely re-issue of some old material from the band Mesrine. This limited edition release contains songs from two of the very first releases from these crazy Canadians; a 3 Way Split CD with Traumatism and Nyctophobic + split with legendary Rot. As far as I know, all tracks were remastered. Hopefully, they sound not so messy now (we will check that in second part of our review). The artwork looks like a cover from the 90's or 80's. Simple white and black colors, funny corpse with ripped belly - everything looks exactly like in old days. You may say that this is stupid, maybe you`re right, but that perfectly works with grindcore. The vinyl has nice and light marble green color, it really pleasant to hold it in your hands and watch when it spins on your turntable.
Side A is the first 8 songs. 45 RPM couple of minutes of cave crazy fun. So the tracks after remastering sound louder, but they are still messy. Drums and vocal are on the first line, as for guitar it is heavy and buzzing (which is cute) but it`s mostly cluttered with drums and screams. Despite those problems, I get a lot of pleasure listening this side. Pure, crazy, wild and so simple that how grind should be.
Side B, 4 songs from the split with mighty gods Rot. This side is better, guitar sound is louder and everything is in nasty harmony, hehe. But in general, material is very close to side A. Raw and furious, that how I can describe this old noise.
Last words - This is interesting release, and it's worth listening to and worth being in your collection, even if you`re not a big fan of raw grindcore.

Sometimes even re-issues can be cool...all that concentrated anger which was packed on vinyl recording was transported with care by the help of russian magnetic devices and it was recorded on tape. Artwork on this release is very good, it's a funny joke on the old good Iron Maiden. Now Eddie is baptized by grindcore)))) And now it's time to talk about the "music" itself....
The first are candian beer-guzzlers - Mesrine. I won't say it's the best material of these guys but it is as absolutely simple as always, without any special tricks, straight like an axe hit. And this thing catchs me. Simple playful rhythms and vocalist's loud roar, though the guitar sound is quite weak, but that does not matter. What about the song "Deadly Sinner" - it is filled with the great spirit of punk.
Italian flying pasta monster attacks next, and it shoots 10 rotten rissoles right into your head. These guys always kept punk music as the foundation and then have been adding there everything they wanted. I can't say that I loved all songs... but absolutely unserious apprach to the business makes me smiling. Here you got scream, growls and also children voices, different samples from the films. Also there is a lot of heavy metal riffs. In short how I said earlier guys are taking it easy and make the fun from all the process.

This split made very long way from the idea to physical incarnation. Labels spent a lot of time releasing this vinyl (I guess that the reason was financial issues, as always)... deadline was changing a lot and I was waiting for this split for more than a year! And finally in the end of the year 2015 I managed to check it out. When I heard about this split for the first time I wasn't even surprised because guys from both bands live in the same country and are friends and they have many shows where they play together. So the coming of this was just the question of time. ;)
This vine-like red vinyl is opened by Mesrine. For their side they recorded 3 new songs back in 2014. There's no sense to write that this band is a living legend - everyone knows them. On this split you have a chance to hear gorgeous middle tempo old school grindcore. The sound is very powerful and solid, sometimes you even feel like it is pressing you with its weight. The picture of the songs isn't very various, it is concentrated on straight killing power. And I should say that Mesrine have reached their goal. That's no matter that there are only 3 songs but they kick your fucking ass hard!
GOD, on the other hand, found some unreleased material from the year 2012. I would confess that I love their old material even more than new stuff. Back in those dayse, before they completely destroyed borders between grindcore and goregrind, their music was mostly goregrind. Oh, I love thos 4 tracks so much! Raw and insane. Vomiting vocals mixed with usual harshness. In addition the forth song is Impetigo cover. Cannibal Apocalypse played by GOD destroys everything!
