What could you expect from two grind bands which are located at diferentes continents? Of course you will be expecting some powerful noise and that is only logical. But, what if these bands know each other? With no doubt they will do a split Todays heroes are Meth Leppard from Australian and Deterioration from the USA. I bet you all know these guys, and many of you have shared a beer with them during their tours… Awesome guys and bands, let's find out what have they recorded in their basements.

So according to marks on this vinyl, we should play the Deterioration side first. Wtf was that? It`s pure insanity… without any warning, it's just a fast killing punch into the face. I must say it was painful, haha! As usual, Deterioration has a bit of a muddy sound but a crazy load of power. The blast beats parts sound like machine gun fire, guitar is heavy and the riffs are short. That what I wanted to heard from these fuckers, I'm glad that they managed to record such mad noise like that.

Side B. My old Australian friends came up with 5 robust tracks. I must say that they coped well with this grindcore deal. You won't hear anything radically new, but you also won't hear any weak material. They are sticking to their own style (and that is good thing). Bloody dangerous speed, recognizable guitar sound and tons of blast beats. Twisting moments between blast parts making this noise  spicier and more diverse. Meth Leppard is a pure drilling machine and they will make a hole in your skull with their grindcore!

Meth Leppard / Minimum Wage Assassins

Let’s get ready for a party! This time on the turntable we have an Aussie vs. U.S. showdown that is sure to please, when Meth Leppard and Minimum Wage Assassins collide! Starting off with the cover art as we always do, we are presented with an image of what appears to be a shattered bust of a human face breaking into pieces.

Diving into the musical side of things we are greeted with the Meth Leppard track Krokodil Dundee, and from its very opening it is clear these guys are not here to mess around. Each song is as much of a heavy hitter as its predecessor which is greatly appreciated. The third track on their side of the split pays homage to the great Tim Morse of Anal Cunt/Horrible Earth fame with the title Done Deal! Which I must admit is so perfect. There’s a very special treat on this split as we are presented with a savage cover of Vulgar Taste by Blood Duster and that definitely caught me off guard. Needless to say Meth Leppard brought some of their most hard hitting material to the table for this release and it shows greatly.

And now to wrap this package up nicely, we have Minimum Wage Assassins up to bat! Opening up their side we have the moderate paced, nasty riff fueled Flesh and Bone. Well I say moderate paced but in reality it randomly breaks out into a blast beat massacre full of all kinds of disgusting Pitch shifted vocals and chainsaw guitar riffs. Backwards Oppression immediately opens with hammering drums and more filthy inhuman vocals, just to snap back and change into a series groovy Goregrind style riffs it makes you wanna get up and start a pit! Last, but certainly not least we have the closing track Kill Pile. Once again we are met with a Tornado like fury from the drums, guitar and vocals that may leave the listener with a mild case of whiplash. It comes and goes so abruptly and leaves you questioning what just occurred.

All in all this split is definitely a gem among the flood of amazing releases to come out in 2018, and it definitely deserves a listen.

Meth Leppard - Discography 2015-2017 (Abusive Noise Tapes)

The year was 2015, 2 guys start jamming together just for fun, but in a short time they understand that all their noise deserves to be shown to the world. That was back 3 years ago in Adelaide, so far these guys have recorded many good songs. They’ve also put a huge tour in US under their belt. And now, a week ago they started their tour in Europe! That's why this review will be so relevant to read. Spanish label Abusive Noise Tapes was the one who put 26 tracks together and released them as a CD. Together it`s 26 minutes of strong Grindcore, which is short and good. The first ultimate strong point of Meth Leppard is that their songs are in the same pounding vein, but are really different from each other. Where Grindcore bands tend fall in the trap of repetition, consciously but more often reluctantly because they just run out of ideas (that is very sad, but true), ML manages to find new themes and hooks for every track. Second is their riffs, try to listen to these songs closely and you will find a lot of different approaches, Ryan is really a riff machine. He has managed to make so many simple but catchy noises with his guitar. But not only guitar is vibrant here, take a look at these fast and crazy blast beats. Sometimes the snare and bass drum sound so savage, I bet that Kieran lost few pounds during all these recording sessions, haha! Really skillful and furious drumming to say the least. It's a solid record, though rather bare-bones and straightforward, and I can easily recommend it to most of the straightforward, oldschool Grind fans out there. Those who are looking for something more involved, soft and original, though, would be encouraged to look elsewhere. Rating: 8.5/10 Meth Leppard bc Meth Leppard fb

This is a very special year for Obscene Extreme Festival. For the last 20 Years this Festival has been the biggest party of the year. Needless to say it has become one of the most anticipated events for Grinders,Death Metal freaks and Weirdos alike. Every year people from around the globe congregate at Trutnov for the purpose of fun of the highest caliber. GGGG wants to congratulate this massive festival, and of course we did it in our way! Summer of 2017 was rather eventful for Aussie Grinders Meth Leppard. From touring the US and playing both Maryland Death Fest as well as Summergrind Fest. To releasing this monster split we present to you today! And they are joined by one of Hungary's finest Grind acts, the mighty Jack! The front cover of this masterpiece depicts an almost zombie like Crust punk with his dog standing at a stop light on the corner of Eat Shit Boulevard and Die Avenue as a city crumbles behind in chaos and fire behind him. Starting things off with the Jack side of the split, we don't have to even wait to be beaten to a bloody pulp. No audio samples, just straight forward gut punching Grindcore from front to back. These 4 gents really know what any true Grind fanatic would want served up to them steaming on a platter. The combination of low growling yells and shrill pissed off screams meld perfectly and balance one another out. To say that Jack are anything short of amazing is underestimating them. Now, here's a band I'm sure many if not all of you are familiar with. The finest 2 Piece Grind and a Biscuit combo to come from Oz, Meth Leppard! Starting things off a little bit different from their counterparts, we are greeted with an audio clip of a young man speaking in Spanish, possibly reciting a poem? Then like a flash from an atomic bomb we are hit in the teeth with full frontal Grindcore! The Meth Leppard boys sure know how to make me wanna mosh even by myself as I sit here writing this. Every song from both sides of this split resonate well and the feelings of pure aggression and rage will not subside in you for some time.
