P.L.F. - Ultimate Whirlwind Of Incineration (Blastasfuk Grindcore)

You can’t argue with the fact that there are some great grindcore bands in Texas! They’re grinding as good as making their famous steaks. I tasted one hell of a stake called Ultimate Whirlwind Of Incineration by P.L.F. in 2014. I was joyed by those few tracks the band uploaded on the Internet to attract listeners to their upcoming release. And then, finally, the moment has come. After reading this review, some might say that I’m wrong, but maybe somebody would even agree with me, ‘cause I think that they didn’t manage to make their newest LP just as good as their previous one – Devious Persecution And Wholesale Slaughter. 
But first, let’s start with something positive, in this case – artwork. I should note that it feels a lot cooler to actually hold this release than looking at it while browsing Google pictures. Very vile artwork than definitely deserves at least 9/10! A.C.A.B. theme was depicted quite awesome here, haha! Even though it’s mostly black/white, it’s still looks great. 
Okay, now let’s talk about the music on this album. First track (Wicked Strains Of Primeval Virus) is surely worth giving it a listen, it just brain-wrecking, almost like a hit of a huge wrecking ball that crushes buildings. Texas’ trio made a whole 15 track (including Assuck cover). I’ll say it again – the album starts very good, but as you listen to the whole thing, you’ll probably get a little bored, ‘cause there’s not much variety. Only a couple more tracks really impressed me. Brian tries his best to shoot out his ultra fast blastbeats (by the way, if you don’t know this guy for whatever reason, check out other bands where he’s performing), Dave keeps up the pace and spills out roars and screams along with all the guitar riffs, but it feels like it lacks that spark(( Personally, I would’ve liked to hear more sledgehammer and diverse material (as it could be in this kind of oldschool spelean grindcore)

The Kill - Speed Freak Killer (Blastasfuk Grindcore/RAPS rec)

I honestly did not expect a package from the Australian label Blastasfuk Grindcore, as the chief of the label didn't notify me that he sent me something. So it was a pleasant surprise for me, hehehe. Today I want to review one of the latest releases of the label. This will be my third review of these nice guys from Melbourne, The Kill! By the way Rob, who runs Blastasfuk Grindcore, plays in this band.

Actually I had hard time trying to understand why they had to publish this CD. After all this material has already been published on a three-way split with Antigama & Noisear (also on CD), plus (while my lazy ass had no time to write a few words about this release) the same 3-way was done on vinyl ... But this release was before vinyl, so we will consider the CD as an entry point for release from Haunted Hotel Records. I never liked my neighbors, so I naturally put Speed Freak Killer very loud, hahaha!

9 napalm bombs will burn everything to the ground! Here there is not that much stuff, but it is very good! The Kill with its signature style of hardcore-ish grindcore, will always be associated with Australia for me. Oh, these guys always surprise me with their speed, it's hard to imagine how that can be done live) I bet that Jay (drums) loses one good kilo of body weight per one live set! In addition to 6 tracks that are included on the vinyl version of the 3-way split, there is still a present for you - 3 bonus tracks that have been successfully taken from various compilations. Also worth mentioning is the original Australian "theme". These guys are big fans of the cult horror movies, The Evil Dead and The Exorcist are visible in every centimeter of cover art.

Agathocles/Wóda i Pety (Blast Of Truth Records)

You can say anything about all these countless splits of Agathocles and how you got tired of this, but to me this is how it always been and I'm totally OK with it! Besides, you can always find some cool underground bands you didn't know about thanks to these splits, and it's no exception in this case. I didn't know much about crust scene in Poland, and BOOM here we have pretty cool band (also band members are not so young there, looking at the photos). They play crust and make it sound really oldschool. No fancy solos, no harmonic intros, everything her is simple like ABC. D-beat + harsh raw vocals + impressive crusty guitars + solid bass, nothing excessive, as you can see. It's a shame there are only 3 tracks, but they are really good and up-beat, makes your boredom go away instantly! By the way, their artwork is about World War I, which is pretty rare theme for art covers.
Agathocles did their art cover about theme that will always will be relevant - manipulation. But the overall design is kinda boring (I've seen around 10 art covers on their releases like this one here). After that, I was expecting classic mincecore as usual, and here I was totally off the road. To my surprise, I heard "Agathocles goes Motorhead", ahahah! This unexpected experiment is a true success, in my opinion. Especially I would like to note "Whisky Like Water". And it's still sounds cool and solid, even though this record is dated 2012/13.

Grotesque Organ Defilement - Body Horror (Blastasfuk Grindcore)

When I just learnt about these canadian raw flesh eaters and beer grandmasters are writing their first full-length album in the studio, I had to prepare my body and mind. I have seriously waited for this for a long long time. These two tracks uploaded on GOD bandcamp were listened for hundreds of times. Full-length album is always a huge gap in every band's history. So I was waiting Body Horror to come out. I heard Roby (Blastasfuk) had some difficulties releasing this one, rumors about pressing plant were spreading: they tried to load Roby with fake cd's. I really have no idea what happened there, but thank G.O.D. these cds saw the light of the day! Music is solid as hell, you can hear how band is developed through years! 23 onslaughts would bash the last nails into your coffin and the last nail is a CSSO cover! 30 minutes of infernal craziness! Sound production is kinda "lively" and solid at the same time! I would like to point out: different vocals, fat guitar riffs with hc touch and drumming style which reminds me of Idiots Parade guy! The cover art is insane... Holy jesus on a stick, Pierre/Braindead Zine knows what he is doing! Every time i look at his masterpieces, I have a boner! This cover art is dedicated to "The Thing" motion picture. My goodness, how detailed this cover is! Everytime I look on it, I find a new monster....

Hi, Jay! So, the first question: is it hard for Australian grindster to wake up after a long night of drinking?)

A. I don’t drink as much as I used to and as I am now over 40 it can get pretty hard to get up after a hard night on the drink, when I was younger it was not so hard so I had plenty of big nights.

I read one of your interview once, and there was info that you were preparing new split with Lycanthrophy, but we still didn’t hear it. Should we wait for it at all?

A. At this stage I don’t think this release will be happening unfortunately.
