Dead Infection ‎– Surgical Disembowelment (Selfmadegod Records)

It's fucking classic, classic and one more time classic! Dead Infection occupies a key position in a gore style so it should be known to any one who even slightly interested in grind. And then there's fresh re-issue of their early album Surgical Disembowelment. I'm honestly not a big fan of all those re-release stuff (just because this album has been published on CD more than once) but when I got this digi-pack in my hands I completely changed my opinion. Polish label Selfmadegod Records was able to bring that album to even higher level. Edition has a 4-piece folding cover and also there are lyrics and nice picture of different human parts and of course surgical cabinet. The ass-kicking, dirty and sick it's not all the adjectives that can be added to "Surgical Disembowelment". Damn, and it's year `93, and in addition the debut album. I think that is when guys got origin of their signature sound. This filthy mix of goregrind and death metal is unlikely to get the young grind freaks going, but old grind fans definitely have this CD in their collections. Buzzing guitars, blasts from maestro Cyjan and ugly hoarse vocal are those components which made this album very important for goregrind genre.

DEAD INFECTION!

Dead Infection is a death/goregrind band from Poland. Since forming in early 1990 they have released three full-length albums and several mini 7"Eps, and split albums. They are the second band from Poland after Vader that made a deal to release a CD/LP with a label abroad (album "Surgical Disembowelment" for Morbid Records). Their second album, "A Chapter of Accidents", is considered by many to be among the milestones of goregrind music. They played numerous live shows around the world, including all of Europe, the United States, South America, Mexico, and Japan.

Dead Infection / Parricide (Selfmadegod rec)

When labels praise their LP and splits releases they sometimes exaggerating things. But that’s not the case right now, Selfmadegod Records praised their another release deservedly, and we can see why: it’s a split of two Polish brontosaurus Dead Infection \ Parricide! I don’t even know how long have we waited for this release… but I’m glad that we finally can listen to it!
Whoever came up with an idea for a cover has definitely had one hell of a hangover, hehehe! “Looking For Victims” is the name of DI’s stuff. Maybe I’m crazy, but the cover shows to us cat-Hitler (yeah, that’s right, it’s pretty hard not to recognize him, haha) standing on a human’s skull and looking for new preys, and the background is a bloody surf. The beginning of the very first song made me laugh instantly, cat’s mewing, ahaha! Their songs here are old school early 90s style. Heavy tearing apart guitar riffs, literally cut bones! Great drumming by Cyjan. Overall, who likes DI’s insanity will definitely enjoy this, otherwise just pass by.
The second kick in my door is another Polish band Parricide! The cover is all about madness of information noise and brainwashing. The main character here is a guy in a straitjacket who eagerly consumes everything he sees on the screen. Pretty interesting and topical cover, especially nowadays. These guys become more grindcore year after year! Of course there are obvious death metal influences, but it’s absolutely great. Also I should note that their live shows sounds exactly like their studio records, totally kick-ass!

Dead Infection (07.11.14)

Hi, Cyjan! How’re you doing? Have you bought tickets to USA already? I heard you get a lot of requests to joy local sycos with your bloody shows, hehe)

Hi! We didn’t buy tickets to States yet, hovewer we have plans to come back there in 2015. We still get some offers from there so we’ll see soon.

Recently your split with veterans from Poland Parricide was released! And the question is, who came up with this hilarious art for your side? Bloody tyrant cat Hitler, that’s something new, if you ask me!)

   - Idea to make cover art like this was mine. The creator of this hilarious design was Hal (our ex-bassplayer, VADER now). He also did other arts for us. He understands my visions very well. I love cats, especially with moustache a’la Adolf. But it’s some kind of humour, of course. Let no one takes it seriously.
