Rageous Intent - Grindcore Compilation 2012 – 2016

Rageous Intent is a very powerful band. This name is not new anymore, RxIx became famous for their brutal grind. They are invited to many festivals, and also they have good recording activity. So I guess that is the main reason why this release happened. Grindfather Productions & Encinta Grrr!!! put out this tape af all RxIx Material... Here you will find songs from the splits with Horsebastard, Greed, Alea Iacta Est, Crisischrist and Final Cunt. Visual side is just a collage combination of all their cover art they have and used (a simple idea but it looks nice). I must admit, these Spanish bastards know how to infect the listener’s mind with their music. Short buzzsaw grind riffs easily penetrate their way through the skull and then melt the brain. Harsh yelling vocals and fast blasting drums are soaking into the mind of the listener, subjugating him and turning it into faith of noise! In these songs I find some trace elements from crust, fastcore and some death metal and these things make RxIx more powerful. This is one of the important things that makes many of these songs memorable. Many of you will agree with me, that memorable music is pretty rare for our time (and it`s pretty bad). Sobbed – Warphobia (Grindfather Productions)

Sobbed can be compared with ancient old and fat "oni". This band is so demonic and violent. They're barbarian grindcore that emanates from the bowels of the damp earth... I rarely find records where primitivism is everywhere and is like a good seasoning for a dish. I mean look at this artwork it`s pretty violent and simple at the same time. I guess it's the main key to being more brutal... I think that with confidence I can say that Warphobia are a good present for all fans of old and aggresive grindcore. This album has a dirty sound and such primitive rhythm structure... These noises are like some kind of infection which slowly is poisoning you. All 12 minutes of this tape are rich with heavy and low power... This din is like a rockfall. Personally I like this simplisity, there are not any triggers no super effects for the guitars... Just raw power. Angry loud roars, loud drums... For this moment the is their last record, I don't know why but, they have concentrated their power to live actions and it`s kind sad. Warfair? – From Inception To Disentigration • Discography

Split up, but not forgotten. In their own way, these guys are one of the best. Seriously, those who heard them will agree. This cassette contains all 55 songs. Cover art has two sides. One side is kinda funny, but another one is all about social problems...hunger, Nazism, human mind control, etc. So, guys, let’s push the "play" button and immerse ourselves into the dark side of grindcore.

Oh, this thing has 9 unreleased songs as a very nice bonus! Then the compilation goes, next the album, the splits and all demos. It’s really great that this cassette starts with the last (and the best one in my opinion) material. Hell, this grindcore just pushes to death with its power. This is like all nature cataclysms tucked in one bottle...you won't survive after that, hehe! Simple song structures combined with the energy and fury hurricane are definitely a thing! It's exactly what’s bones-crushing grindcore is all about. A little bit filthy, low, barbarian sound will easily winvyour heart. The guitar sound here is just like chainsaw cutting the asphalt. Blastbeats sound like a caveman beating a mammoth at a very high speed. And these vocals...they sound like the devils from hell screaming after spotting your cute soul, ahaha!)

Reeking Cross / Sensory Deprivation (Grindfather Productions)

This tape has almost wrecked my player, hahaha! Shit, that was heavy, low and raw… For me, this split is one of the last year’s best releases. Still, I’ll try to be as objective as I can writing these words. So… Reeking Cross is a US noisecore band with people from Enemy Soil, Triac, etc. (I think that’s why you can here familiar structures common to powerviolence here and there). The band has only bass, no guitars… What has always amazed me in RC’s stuff is the sound… When other noise guys try to grease the sound and make the record dirtier and noisier, it’s not the case for RC. They have clearer sound (sounds stupid, right? haha), but it’s very wicked and intense. Fast blast beat attacks alternate with slow parts… like at some moments the guys break listeners into pieces and then mop up the concrete with them. The guys from Sensory Deprivation have pretty much amazed me. ...amazed in a sense of playing something really evil and disturbing in the vein of Warsore. Even though their sound is not so cool, the material itself is great. It’s absurdly simple, but has an incredible destructive power. Low guitar, fast blastbeat and scary screams – all that stuff rips off the meat from the bones! By the way, SD is a project of Soil of Ignorance guys. Something tells me that this is the way guys decided to honor the legacy of this legendary Aussie band. PS: for ones interested in the cover – it’s a frame from a scary trash horror movie “Street Trash”.

Rust / Arroyo (B.O.G. records)

What a cute, orange diy tape, my hands haven't held such a thing for a long time. In addition to it's beautiful design, this item contains a good piece of moldic mincecore / grindcore. This release consists exclusively of representatives of the Finnish scene. By the way, for Arroyo this split is final as they decided to split up. It is worth saying that the recording on this cassette is very noisy, but I'll try to describe the sounds I could hear there. Anyway, our story begins with Arroyo... despite all that mold and filth on the record, their songs sink deep into the mind (I think it's because of their simplicity, hilarity and cheerfulness). Moderate tempo dominates here, but occasionally I just really want to drink my beer in one gulp and rush to dance, ahah). Even the dampness of this record can not hide the cheerful spirit that Arroyo give. There are many typical (as for the followers of Agathocles) rhythmic drawings and guitar riffs (it gives little flashbacks when listen to it). But the presence of two different vocals on the contrary – pleases. We turning up to the next page. The Rust band does not play the typical mincecore (as far as the term “typical” for this genre can be applied)... Aggressive speed dominates in the works of these guys. Their songs are perfectly pumped, you will not remain indifferent while listening to the rumblings of this avalanche, these ragged buzzing guitars, the machine-gun blast bits, like a wave, it drives you crazy, ahah! And the dampness of the sound here is like a mold on cheese, it adds a taste to this material.

Meatus - Laboratory For Fecal Analysis

The disgusting creature named Meatus has been around more than a year, but I've decided to write about that dreadful filth only now. In this project, Joe (Archagathus, Hallucinosis, Horrible Pain, Parfumerie, Violent Gorge and others bands) recorded all instruments on his own, pretty talented man, isn't he?)) This cassette can be compared with big rotting whale carcass which was thrown ashore... Gradually, the sun does its job, a carcass begins to decompose, more and more cadaveric gas is being released and here it is - an apogee – an explosion that is throwing rotten scraps around. The same with this demo, the explosion here are the first sludgy sounds, first heavy hits on the strings and on the drums, the rotten scraps - gorgeous rotten guitar riffs and dirty sound. Oh yes, we’ve forgotten to mention the nasty smell - the evil, deep and roaring vocals. Despite the noisy sound of the record, we can perfectly hear the influence of the old school gore. Joe came up with a lot of good rhythmic tricks. This shit slowly rocks the listener and then hits his head against the wall, destroying him, ahahah!))

And here is some more useful info. Originally, this demo was released years ago, but in 2017 this tape was re-released by American labels Ill Faith Records and Fermented Bile Vomit Productions. Also, it`s got a new design.
