Abortion - All You Need Is Hate

When a band has been around for as long as Abortion has, there is not much to say that has not been said already. Slovakian grinders have had a very rich discography during their almost three decades of existence. "All You Need Is Hate" is their 7th full-length coming three years after Konvert and it's a good addition their discography. Cover art was made by Radek (Meat Spreader/Neuropathia), and I must say this angry psycho clown looks a bit weird (as for grindcore release) but interesting, it feels that this creature is real savage. The colors were chosen right too, combinations of black and yellow look tasty. This album has small tiny touch of the 90s, as the insert is made in old diy way. Xero copied A3 insert with photos, lyrics and everything else, maybe for someones it looks cheap, but personally I like it.

"All You Need Is Hate" is packed with raw emotion and a serious sense of urgency among lower classes of people to recognize their potential and take control of the state. Old guard is know how to mix classical grindcore with drop of mincecore. In contrast with previous album, "All You Need Is Hate" has more fire, it's not so boring like Konvert was, it has more fire but there is still some boring moments. All songs sounds similar to each other; almost all of them are mid speed, and that does not spice this album at all. Also, there is one more thing that I'm not happy about, it's the sound of the guitar. It's a bit dry on my taste. Of course there are alot of positive moments; for example I found hidden Sodom cover (go ahead and check Grand Hotel Alepo track). I'm grateful for this promo vinyl, because it sounds much better than the digital one. Of course I don't want to lie, these songs doesn't have hyperblasbeats, dissonant sound of guitar, or super sounds in general; this album is totally not for fans of new wave of grindcore. All in all, Abortion is just a bunch of old grind freaks, who love to make noises in their own way.

Final Exit / Sedem Minut Strachu (SPHC Records)

It`s very hard to review Noise releases, during the years I have not had the chance to meet many of the original and interesting Noise bands. But, this 7” is one of those special and catchy releases. We have here Final Exit from Japan and Sedem Minut Strachu from Slovakia. Noise lovers must know both of them; they are pretty unique and original. SPHC Records (located in USA) released this noise in vinyl format. This lovely colored vinyl is hiding a very high dose of Noise, so be careful and be sure to put the volume on maximum! 

I want to start with side A. Japanese legends Final Exit didn't disappoint me. Their diverse Noise cheers me up; this material can be compared to a digital Frankenstein. So many different styles are stitched together. Same with the tempos… fast, crazy and blasting parts are perfectly balanced with slow, acoustic parts. I guess this mess could blow up the heads of fans of modern rap or pop music, but I found this noise very enjoyable. 

My old Slovakian friends managed to make something very strange and funny. Their side is dedicated to Cliff Burton; also they have used a few riffs from a famous Metallica song. That sounds pretty fresh in the mix with their brand of Noise. But unfortunately this experiment didn't touch me…

Sedem Minút Strachu / Cum Sock (Sick Phoque records)

Sometimes music can cure, some times not so much. Sometimes even simple noise can bring you back to normal life… My day was started with a stupid hangover and strong acute needs in some good noise. so I choose this yellow like piss tape and put it in my player… Well it actually helps, my head was cured with these lovely chaotic tunes and some cold beer. And now I want to write about this simple recipe. First of all you should mix two noisecore bands (from different sides of our planet), recorded their songs on tape (thanks Sick Phoque records), then play that shit at maximum volume and don't forget to add a few beers. Side A of this tape is something like shock therapy, Slovakian noiseheads Sedem Minút Strachu acting so harsh. That two bass guitar mess can crush your head. Honestly it's hard to believe that simple improvisation can be so aggressive, so silly and so heavy! A combination of wild yelling, roaring, screaming and mad drum beats (by the way, Jan has an interesting technic), low bass guitar sound and satanic harmonica makes this mess unique and memorable. And now we finally reached side B. Canadian Cum Sock is finishing our healing procedure. Seriously this small project cheers me up! This noise has so much punk influence, it sounds so great and goofy. Guitar is pretty dirty but, I can hear most of the riffs, caveman yelling makes this record even crazier. Part noise, Part punk, part hardcore… this mess is really nice. I`m feeling the guys had so much fun during this recording session, the emotions are perfectly transmitted and felt here. In the end I just only say that this tape became one of my favourite noise releases for year. Rating: 7.5/10 SMS bc Cum Sock fb
