Rageous Intent - Grindcore Compilation 2012 – 2016
Rageous Intent is a very powerful band. This name is not new anymore, RxIx became famous for their brutal grind. They are invited to many festivals, and also they have good recording activity. So I guess that is the main reason why this release happened. Grindfather Productions & Encinta Grrr!!! put out this tape af all RxIx Material... Here you will find songs from the splits with Horsebastard, Greed, Alea Iacta Est, Crisischrist and Final Cunt. Visual side is just a collage combination of all their cover art they have and used (a simple idea but it looks nice).
I must admit, these Spanish bastards know how to infect the listener’s mind with their music. Short buzzsaw grind riffs easily penetrate their way through the skull and then melt the brain. Harsh yelling vocals and fast blasting drums are soaking into the mind of the listener, subjugating him and turning it into faith of noise! In these songs I find some trace elements from crust, fastcore and some death metal and these things make RxIx more powerful. This is one of the important things that makes many of these songs memorable. Many of you will agree with me, that memorable music is pretty rare for our time (and it`s pretty bad).

Horsebastard / Rageous Intent
A small observation. Both bands are pretty punctual - every year they release something new and it makes us happy. I really dont know in which sick head the idea to combine these two teams was born, but the result is a killer! Lets pass the music side you just look at this art! The artist who painted it all probably drank hallucinogenic tea, heh heh). I can truly say that is one of the most badass covers in this year. Looking at all these characters you will get some good mood for yourself. And if you unwrap cover you will get a big and funny poster with stoned cartoon horse)))
Spanish toreadors from Rageous Intent will be the first who present their songs to us. I must admit that their sound became more tasty. The material remained at the same high level as it was before. It`s fast, fun and aggressive and that is a great combination. Good balance between aggressiveness, brutality and readability of music instruments (if you want you can do those riffs yourself by ear). If you have depression, try these six short songs to help you get rid of it.
Mad dudes from Horsebastard attack again! You have to taste 6 cups with strong burning booze that will mince your brains :) Listening to the new songs, I found myself thinking that guys dont loose their madness. Crazy riffs, fast and aggressive speed, vicious screams and a bit of mushrooms - thats how those english side can be characterized. What is interesting for me in particular is how much water does their drummer have to drink during the live set.

Alea Iacta Est & Rageous Intent (Sekac Records)
What could possibly be common between Slovakia and Spain? You could waste a whole week thinking about it, but I recommend you to listen to this split instead! These bands are huge friends for sure, they toured together in Europe and then made a split!
Alea Iacta Est is not a new band for me, I already did a review on their split with Controlled Existence from Czech Republic. Sometime later I got another package from Attila.
The band presented 7 new tracks on this split. To be perfectly sure, I listened to this split three times and here are my thoughts about Slovakian side. The band has grown up both in making music and sound. Overall mood is the same, but nevertheless, I heard some fastcore and even powerviolence there. I really enjoyed it! Fast as machine gun drums, evil screaming vocals and bloody fingers of guitarist and bassist! When combined, you really can't go wrong with this tracks, hehe!))
And now let's take a look at Rageous Intent. I guess it's pretty young band on Spanish grindcore scene. By the way, the one who plays guitar here is Gerardo Fernandez from legendary Denak! RI side contains 5 tracks of good grindcore massacre. Everything is in place, the sound is not as good as Slovakian has on their side, but nothing to be done here, it's how it is. But their art cover is completely another story! Sex-symbol of terrorism Ronald McDonald hugging a SWAT team member. Great idea, really funny and has a deep social meaning!)
