Yakisoba - Embryonic Oozing

This spring, gore blast from Italy released its second work. This work is full of maggots and purulent stench, and the guys from Rectal Purulence Recs noticed that, liked it, and released it. This CDr release looks pretty primitive, but sick. There are just a few photos of surgery and a image of helminths for the back cover. Nothing much as for gore theme, but we have what we have. Regardless, I can assure you that the music inside sounds much uglier and brutal that this cover picture looks.   

Embryonic Oozing is 7 minutes of gorenoise that will make you puke. 7 songs that regular metalheads can`t handle, haha! The vocals are sickeningly brutal, these pitch shifted roars are the main things here. The guitars sounds dirty and messy, it cluttered by drum-machine and vocal. By the way, digital blast beats sounds good, their sound is not super annoying. The whole material is a bit better than debut demo, so step by step this project is growing up. Like other gore bands, this rotten unit is using different sound pieces from the movies. But Yakisoba didn`t use a regular samples from old horror films, this band is using fragments from Japanese movies, and that works perfectly with this unholy noise. As for the sound…  there is a lot work to do, it's still too raw.
I can recommend this small release to real gore fans, who are not looking for Relapse rec sound and bands with big names, because this CDr contains only poor vomiting aggression.

Cystgurgle / Vomitoma

Gorenoise is definitely not a place for cowards. The split I'm about to review will explain why. We have here two very nasty and heavy projects. Cystgurgle (Thailand) and Vomitoma (USA) have prepared for you a ton of filthy and harsh material. The sounds of sonic vomit will smash and melt you down, but on the other hand this tape is full of fun! I want start with the first name on this split, the duo Cystgurgle. My aquaintance with this act started with their 7” Regurgitant Slurp Of Mashed Embryo, I was really surprised with their massive and dirty sound and monstrous bass guitar sound. However, this material is something different. The whole concept is more borderline Gorenoise, everything is very dirty and noisy. Bass riffs have turned in some kind of mess, so its function more like background sound. The main thing that you will hear (and what will damage your hearing) is the snare sound. It's ridiculously loud and has high ringing sound. Second thing is the vocals, distorted and horrible these vocals are the audible variant of vomit stench. I must say I really dig this new Cystgurgle. The second band is a legendary one man machine, Vomitoma. Raw, liquid,putrid sound that slowly begins eating you… That's how I can describe this shit, ha! God damn, these pitch shifted vocals sound really loud and dreadful (btw, that is a mainstay here). I like the bass too, I can almost recognize some of the riffs. Here's one small but, very worthwhile addition. Live drums that were recorded by Adrian (Putrefuck). The blastbeats are a bit punky and goofy but they combine very well with the vocals. Only the last song has super annoying drum-machine that drills your head like crazy. That track was really the last nail in the coffin of cowards, haha! Rating: 8/10

Yakisoba - Mandatory Amputation

I’m starting to worry about Italy, for several years there were a lot of new and fresh Gore bands. I must say that is strange but pleasant for me. Yakisoba is one of the many bands who emerged from the new age primordial ooze. This is a one man project which debuted last year with the EP “Mandatory Amputation”. It`s not surprising that this debut work has all of the attributes of Goregrind. The cover is fucking disgusting, this Asian corpse looks like a victim of Unit 731! The Noise is nasty and bloody too, but I will write about this a bit later. There are two releases of this demo - tape and CDr versions (I was lucky to get the CDr). It looks simple, there is no insert, track list and all of the info can be found on the reverse side of the sleeve. Becoming acquainted with Yakisoba only lasts 6 minutes, but for that short period you will be crushed with huge portion of noisy music.

The drum machine is set to max, the pitch shifter is on and the strings are ready to slice. Michele (that is the name of the guy behind this band) managed to create a really dirty and ugly piece of gore. I don't know why this guy is so in love with Japan, but I like how he used samples from Japanese movies in this mess. The first thing that you will notice on this demo is the distorted vocals. These vomiting vocals have heavy and loud sound. It’s very similar to the sound of boiling water. The guitar tone is simple but it’s mostly cluttered with vocals. And, the sound of the drum machine is not annoying which is important. Unfortunately I can`t say that I`m happy with this sound, it has no dynamic and it`s dry. Despite problems with the sound “Mandatory Amputation” is a nice piece of Gorenoise/Goregrind. So if you are into this kind of noise, be sure to check out this demo.

Squalid / Putrid Liquid (Garbage Bondage Records)

This small tape is a magical place where dirty Goregrind meets with dirtier Gorenoise. If you don't like really muddy vomiting sound then skip this review, because today GGGG will cover split of Squalid and Putrid Liquid! This is really short but,really good release that was made by Russian independent label Garbage Bondage Records. Both sides are fit in only 6 minutes, but that is enough to show you the full power of both bands.

The slimy guys from Detroit starts this split. After a cool intro (unfortunately I didn't recognize the movie) they've attacked my ears with impressive portion of noise.) Ugly terrifying vocasl are messed up with dirty guitar. That combo creates heavy sound pressure btw. Also I like the sonorous sound of the snare, that is a bit goofy, but in my opinion that is the main part of the whole sound concept of Squalid.
The shorter side of this split belongs to Putrid Liquid. With only 1.5 minutes these buddies will show the energy of Mincing Gore. These dudes are acting fast, dirty and a bit crazy. This Noise is really messy but, I still like it. All the instruments merge into a creepy, cheesy mess, where the distorted vocala and snare drum stand out from everything else. Hope that many people will find this music too disgusting, haha! I'm sure that this split was so annoying to my neighbours, because they've called cops while I was listened this putrid stuff to loud, haha! But on the other hand that means that both bands did their best. So if you`re looking for nice music for your pajama party, you could try to use this tape.

Hi Alexander!! Thanks for getting in touch! It's really nice to have this chance to chat. I suppose I'm doing okay for the most part. Lately I have been way too stressed out though, and in some ways my life (or at least the way I experience it) has been quite unstable. But l can't really complain either, as at the moment I have a job which I really like, I'm surrounded by really wonderful people and I have a ton of creative projects that are very important to me, so I’m trying to stay positive you know!

Gore / Impalement Mouths Sodomy (Viscera Records)

Goregrind has always been a lovely genre for me. The genre is loaded to the top with serious themes about serial killers, bloody murders, mutations and stupid gore jokes. The last few last years there was a huge ugly wave that came across our planet which gave birth to many new bands. Well sometimes it's hard to find something really worthy in that heap of slime, but we always have an old band, that's still active and still rocks! So that's why I picked up this new split of Brazilian legends, Gore. For this split they chose a filthy one man project, named Impalement Mouths Sodomy. I can compare this release with the corpse that is Clogged in the Tank. This CD contains not just 1 corpse, this CD contains 23 corpse pieces, and they smell very bad. Both sides have their own covers art, but they are equally disgusting, haha! Gore is old school oriented band. I always liked this band, because almost all of their material is great (it's not too diverse but,still delicious). Through the years this band has had a lot of troubles with line ups, but that didn't effect the gore passion in them. The guitar riffs still have a taste of old-school Death Metal and Goregrind, the buzzing tremolo picking reminds me of Carcass, Dead Infection,etc... All polka, blast, d and other beats are "alive". They were recorded by a guest drummer. And about the vocals. There is a huge load of vomit sound in the vocals… Pitch shifted noises are perfectly fit in this gory mess of blood and meat remains. I believe that I can tag Impalement Mouths Sodomy as some sort of Gorenoise. This muddy noisy band is a child of Ivan (Cannibe). The best shot of this recording session is the first track "Cataclysm Of The Brain". After a creepy horror movie sample begins a reel of vomiting ugliness! That track is the most memorable here (I guess because all other songs are very similar), unfortunately everything else is not memorable at all. I listened to the whole side and after few minutes I forgot about what I had listened to…
