One year ago, Bulgarian experimental trio Coprostatis had to released their 3rd album. This noise was released in digipac format, and I must say it is very pleasant to hold in your hands. This edition has 3 panels with band photos, info, and all lyrics with nice and funny artwork with pirates, bloody sea, desert, and camels. The visual side is cute, but let's put this CD in our player... I came across the fact that this album is hard to decompose into genres. But the main thing here is thrash, I found a lot of riff structures and drums beats that are inherent to this genre. The is a drop of death metal here and there too, also I can sniff the smell of grindcore too (but it's too tiny). Fast pieces are switch to middle tempos, and that's how song structures on this album are built. The guitar sound is nice and clear with a good metal tone but without big dynamics. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about bass. It sounds too cheap and dry. The drums dry too (for my taste of course), mostly because of the triggered bass drum. But, I'm sure that this band is not so bad on the stage. This album consists of 13 songs - for me was hard to listen them all, because somewhere in the middle I realized that this noise is boring for me. Rating: 6/10 Сoprostasis fb Coprostasis bc

Oh, and what a strange CD I got here... I've been thinking what to write about this one. I had to listen to it for like 3 times to fully grasp and understand this album, because guys have mixed so many different things together here. The thing that got me confused was probably the fact that this release is considered to be crust/grind/punk... And, of course, we got all those genres here, but I could hear different metal pieces as well, multiple genres (but not like in most death metal bands). And it`s pretty good that guys don’t set limits... but it sounds pretty strange. Guys did try to do their best, but despite all the efforts, it didn’t turn out to be so good…I could not really decide on whether I liked it or not, so let’s make it 50/50, shall we? But I have to point out the good parts: grind blasting parts, crust rhythms, punk sound of bass guitar and, also, I really like this semi-black metal song which is called “Little Dream”, hardcore one “Name Fallen” and of course “Puke To You”, Dissucks cover. Among the things that I don't like about it is the sound. It`s not very bad but I think there is not enough density and low frequencies. What’s more, different metal riffs and rhythms don’t really fit the larger picture sometimes.

Traffic Death - Terror on the Freeway

I remember the first time I’ve heard T.D. I was listening to this particular EP(I checked out the full album long after that). I remember standing there, tapping my foot to the tempo of the tune while looking at the art on the cover. I liked these weirdos back then, but when they sent me the record, I was stunned. I know I should be as objective as possible, but the actual look of the record is absolutely mind-blowing! I’m a big fan of old school horror movies and the artist totally hit the point here. He managed to bring together different kinds of characters. Here we have Christine, Phantasm…all time classics such as Frankenstein and Werewolf, and many other characters from slasher movies, wow! But wait…there’s more! The vinyl itself is quite something as well. It’s half-transparent covered with a red splashes of paint. Perhaps this is what your windshield would look like if you hit a man with a car, hahaha! T.D. would be great stuff for people suffering from depression. Their cheerful and kind of “I don’t give a fuck” tunes can cheer anybody up. When compared to the full format, guys seem to keep following their own path. Guys are still playing the same old punk-crossover-grind just as they did at the very beginning of their career. I can say that the last track on this short EP will render you speechless for sure. Their “Hit & Run” cover of the legendary Girlschool made my day.

Begrime Exemious / Flash Out (Filth Regime Records)

This split has got a high concentration of Canadian singularity... 
When listening I was afraid to be dashed with maple syrup,hehe! Joking aside, this release is quite a great collaborative work of two Canadian bands. Despite the fact that all sources of information call Begrime Exemious a black/death metal band, I strongly feel punk moiety here. 
Unfortunately there are only two tracks. The first one -"Extinguished", begins with rather trite monotonous guitar lick, but then guys slip into a fucking wicked quality! 
Here we get oldscool punk, some black metal and cemeterial stink of death metal. Simple, but enjoyable solos, rude vocals... just goodly. In patches guys are rising to Motorhead! However, what is to ask hairy battle-jacketed busters for?) 
Flash Out placed three tracks on this split. 
I must also note that, without regard to badly recorded vocals, 
the material sounds much phatter than on their debut album! 
The vocal seems to be recorded at live sets with kind of inferior gear, but still, it matched the atmosphere perfectly. Good, moderately raw guitars are sure to obtain hearts. Hmm, the subject of the "eye of providence" has already taken place at their preveous art coveries. Secretly, even this aspect is superior to the one on their album...

ZOMBIES EAT MY NEIGHBOURS!

Ukrainian experimental Thrash/grind/hardcore band. Was founded in 2006 in Borodyanka (the town in Kiev region).

After the successful debut in “Bingo” club in spring 2008 and about a dozen of gigs, the band had fallen into anabiosis and started hunting the experienced soldiers for the zombie division… Despite of the fact of frequent changes in rhythm-section, the band recorded demo, 2 EPs and debut album… Now guys are based in Kiev, fell to more extreme sound and are preparing new material.
