The LP will be named “Dead End” and will be released very soon thru Sump Pump records.
This band has already existed more than 10 years… But unfortunately they've remained almost unknown outside of Ukraine. For these years this band has suffered a lot, like any other band they've had a lot of line-up changes and trouble with labels. But finally, this year small diy label Surrogate Recordsmreleased both of their albums on one tape. This tape looks very simple, as I know these guys tried to make it look like a pirate tape (bootleg cassette), well they managed to do that (i`m pretty sure that cover art is stolen from the internet, hahaha. So, boys and girls, let's take a closer look at the result of 4 years of work…
First is the “Nameless” album. We are expecting 11 songs and about 20 minutes of interesting experimental stuff. The main feature of “ZEMN” is that fact that these guys don’t stop on any genre. These boys are mixing everything with everything. First of all I must admit good quality sound (okay it`s not a grind sound but it sounds good). This album is full of catchy rhythms, dense guitar sound with pretty metal taste, but sounds heavy (sometimes it reminds me of the sound of different Polish grind/death metal bands). The lyrics side is full of social themes…dirty society, money, lost generation, shitty system,etc. But the weakest is the drum parts. Cut and paste style noticeably spoils the impression. Also there is a number of unnecessary samples, vocal effects and backing vocals. I can’t say that this album has grind base, rather it`s some hardcore+thrash with little grind. But anyway this album has some interesting songs, so it is worth listening to at least once.
Okay, now is the last album (for the moment of course) – “Alive”. Everything starts with a “Doom” song. I guess, with this song, guys tried to create a dark atmosphere in the beginning of the album, but this venture has failed. The guitar sound ruined it with its midi tone (and that is fucking sad). But, the next few songs show to us that not everything is lost. Dirty and raw sound masked guitar and everything starts to sound pretty good. One more thing this album is the most Grind stuff these boys have recorded. There are a good number of blast beats, heavy bass shots and crazy screaming. I can say with confidence that this material is much better (with material but not with sound) than their previous stuff.

You probably can't find any disadvantages of this split's artwork. The artist had made fun of anything as much as possible. He threw some shit on massons, christianity, also the faith in Velzevul, this is a rare funny shit. And behind this funny cover two good bands from two enormous continents are hiding.
Americans Antichrist Demoncore are becoming very popular, though I have tried to understand why, I couldn't. Guys play excelent fast and agressive hardcore (and on this record we can feel some powerviolence). There is a lot of various tempo pieces. Slow, rocking, also ultra-fast moments (somehow with a grindcore flavour). 2 furious vocals and of course a glimpse to a hardcore punk. The guys managed to insert very different sound mixture into these 5 tracks.
Disparo! I haven't had a chance to hear this band earlier. This turned to be very solid hardcore/fastcore/punk. Peppy and funny. I don't want to dissapoint the guys but this leading vocal is very ridiculous. It's very squeeky, when female back vocals are very cool, and when the harsh scream is going - it's cool too, but not these squeeky screams. The sonorous bass sound cheers me up too, it's like in best traditions of punk.

Spain is very rich for all kinds of talents. This wonderful country gave birth to a lot of great bands. But the most famous bands will be reviewed next time. Today, I want to put on a GGGG turntable the first album of a young band called X-torsion. If you do not take their participation in compilation into account, then OdioEterno is their first serious work. Hmmm, maybe I have to go to a psychiatrist, but the art on this album made me smile. A sort of a funny black humor half-rotten cartoon head, I could not not see anything repulsive.
The group is new to me, but after carefully listening to the album I did not find anything new. But that does not mean anything bad, I guess it is just too difficult to surprise me with the music. The mere fact that the debut album was released on vinyl is already surprising, because that is not cheap at all...
The content of black (as the old rock fan's T-shirt) is full of energy. That mix of fast hc-punk and fastcore, with some notes of grindcore - that really rocks. There are songs for any taste. Want some punk - there you go, want something harder - is also possible. The highlight for me here was the vocals. Spanish makes the music sound more angry.
