Today I want to tell you about one of the two most interesting compilation records dedicated exclusively to the Slovak extreme scene. One small vinyl holds tracks by 6 bands you should really be aware of. So let us begin this tour gentlemen! 
Humit - one very strange band. 1 track is very strange piece of music with a hint of noisecore ... only bass and drums, not so surprising of course, but I've seen some people who can do miracles with this set up... and unfortunately, this is not the case. In general, Humit did not conquer my heart. Abortion - these guys are truly legendary Slovakian band. Their music is a mid-tempo grindcore with a very punk-ish bursts and brutal vocals. Of course this is not something that they played 10 years ago, there is no such fire as before, but the material in general is not bad. 
Alea Iacta Est - very cheerful and cool team. Boys emit sincere energy in only 2 short tracks but they are able to get even dead people mosh in those 2 minutes! Excellent slightly punky fast grindcore, what else you need to set good mood! 
Sedem Minút Strachu - noisy trio of crazy dudes. The secret of their crazy sound is very simple - 2 bass guitars, fast drummer and uninterrupted screams of all participants. This noisegrind has very high density, I just physically feel the severity of the noise of violence, ahaha! 
Kumuru - Slovak experimental dudes. They play an eccentric fastcore with a strong rhythm section. Some specific schizophrenic screaming vocalist. All at once it sounds very interesting and, most important, fast. 
Paskuda - these guys here represent the hardcore scene in Slovakia. Their hardcore is fast and has a pleasant mixins of grindcore and crust. Total 2 songs here but it is enough to get some sympathy for this pleasant fast music. This is the last band in this collection, and their music is a nice finisher for this brief tour into the world of Slovak underground music.

Alea Iacta Est & Rageous Intent (Sekac Records)

What could possibly be common between Slovakia and Spain? You could waste a whole week thinking about it, but I recommend you to listen to this split instead! These bands are huge friends for sure, they toured together in Europe and then made a split!
Alea Iacta Est is not a new band for me, I already did a review on their split with Controlled Existence from Czech Republic. Sometime later I got another package from Attila.
The band presented 7 new tracks on this split. To be perfectly sure, I listened to this split three times and here are my thoughts about Slovakian side. The band has grown up both in making music and sound. Overall mood is the same, but nevertheless, I heard some fastcore and even powerviolence there. I really enjoyed it! Fast as machine gun drums, evil screaming vocals and bloody fingers of guitarist and bassist! When combined, you really can't go wrong with this tracks, hehe!))
And now let's take a look at Rageous Intent. I guess it's pretty young band on Spanish grindcore scene. By the way, the one who plays guitar here is Gerardo Fernandez from legendary Denak! RI side contains 5 tracks of good grindcore massacre. Everything is in place, the sound is not as good as Slovakian has on their side, but nothing to be done here, it's how it is. But their art cover is completely another story! Sex-symbol of terrorism Ronald McDonald hugging a SWAT team member. Great idea, really funny and has a deep social meaning!)

The idea of making a band came up around the year 2003, but because of the lack of instruments our first rehearsal was only in the summer of 2005 in the following line up: Attila (vocals), Péter (bass), Szilárd (guitars). In the beginning we played without drums, but after a short time Sanyi has taken up this position and Stefan has also joined the band choosing the second guitar. Both played in a local punk band called KARAK before they joined us. Our HC/punk based style was changing and later the crust/grind elements started to dominate. In 2007 Peter leaved us and we had to play without bassplayer for a year. Than Tomi from INCURABLE came and our style was gradually getting more closer to grindcore. This line up is valid until now and each stuff was released in this formation. Our first self released EP came out in 2009 on CD and we continued with splits: first, with RAS on 7" than we released a live gig with JACK. The next 7" was with CONTROLLED EXISTENCE and meanwhile we put on a 4way split 12" our older unreleased songs. The new 7" with RAGEOUS INTENT contains 7 grindcore songs and it is coming out very soon. But we have plenty of other plans... and one thing you can be sure of: we are not slowing down!

Alea Iacta Est & Controlled Existence 7"

One day I was drinking great Brazilian coffee, there was Baywatch on the TV and overall the morning was good. But my rest was disturbed by sudden knock on my door. I thought it was people from recruitment office, but it turned out to be postman with a package for me. Inside this package was split of great Slovakian band Alea Lacta Est and Controlled Existence from Czech Republic. Slovakian grindcore is pretty recognizable, like Czech goregrind, even if someone wakes you up in the middle of the night and ask you what's this music, you wouldn't make a mistake, heh! ALE presented 6 tracks, and the last one is very considerable trump card - Insect Warfare cover (track - Human Trafficking)!! The songs are great, such as band. Now, to Controlled Existence, animal welfare advocates, as I get it by the cover. 8 tracks of blasting fastcore/grindcore, after some time i realized that there's a woman named Lyubov on the vox. CE really impressed me with their material. I listened to this 7" quite a lot, so I guess you would do the same, 'cause this split is really good!
