Dead Infection / Parricide (Selfmadegod rec)
When labels praise their LP and splits releases they sometimes exaggerating things. But that’s not the case right now, Selfmadegod Records praised their another release deservedly, and we can see why: it’s a split of two Polish brontosaurus Dead Infection \ Parricide! I don’t even know how long have we waited for this release… but I’m glad that we finally can listen to it!
Whoever came up with an idea for a cover has definitely had one hell of a hangover, hehehe! “Looking For Victims” is the name of DI’s stuff. Maybe I’m crazy, but the cover shows to us cat-Hitler (yeah, that’s right, it’s pretty hard not to recognize him, haha) standing on a human’s skull and looking for new preys, and the background is a bloody surf. The beginning of the very first song made me laugh instantly, cat’s mewing, ahaha! Their songs here are old school early 90s style. Heavy tearing apart guitar riffs, literally cut bones! Great drumming by Cyjan. Overall, who likes DI’s insanity will definitely enjoy this, otherwise just pass by.
The second kick in my door is another Polish band Parricide! The cover is all about madness of information noise and brainwashing. The main character here is a guy in a straitjacket who eagerly consumes everything he sees on the screen. Pretty interesting and topical cover, especially nowadays. These guys become more grindcore year after year! Of course there are obvious death metal influences, but it’s absolutely great. Also I should note that their live shows sounds exactly like their studio records, totally kick-ass!
