Evisorax- Isle of Dogs (Epileptic Media)
If you take a close look at the UK, then you will probably see that the people living there is very strange. Even in the famous cartoon Obelix says something like "Those Brits are absolutely out of their minds." And it's not just their food and sports, this madness has penetrated into music as well. Today I will discuss the debut work of crazy guys from Evisorax. The big surprise for me was to get this cassette, since they all were sold long time ago, there were only 40 (!) of them.
This unremarkable, pink coloured cassette, in fact, turns out to be a real Pandora's box! Only 8 songs, but the level of evil and aggression kicks ass! If I say it's grindcore, I'll be wrong, it is very difficult to properly tag this band. Maybe it's something in between mathcore and grindcore. Mad guitar riffs are like sharp knife cutting through your ears, blastbeat-god drummer (not just an ordinary dude, but the one that was kicking shit out of drums in Narcosis and The Ergon Carousel!) and vocalist screaming like someone is killing him. All this shit is mixed in a terrible cacophony which completely blows your brain! It hurts but at the same time delivers so much pleasure. To be honest, I can't imagine where these guys take so much madness from and how they interpret it in sound Unfortunately it is impossible to get this release nowadays, but its digital variation (with different cover) is available somewhere on the Internet, which is very handy.

Always Never Fun – Always Never Fun
Waa, what I’ve got! Fresh Italian band - Always Never Fun with their self-titled album! The wave of powerviolence has blown up from pole to pole with great impetuosity and left post-apocalyptic hell behind!
What's interesting is that I couldn’t find any demo of this band on internet , so they started with solid piece of work indeed! Actually, it could have turned out to be an undue risk...but, in this case it morphed into a pretty good job.
I never expected the package from Nuclear Alcoholocaust Rec would be that large-sized… I was very surprised with the ample quantity of releases, placed in such a small box, heheh. Then I inspected them all. Well, “more than ordinary” is written all over ANF vinyl. Album cover is printed on thick paper, and the vinyl is packed in conductive-plastic envelope. In addition, this vinyl is single-sided, and guys didn’t neglect to put their logo on another side. I don’t know whether this print is mill, because it looks as if it was indent by hand (make it d.i.y.! hehe). In fine, the art is flavorful and amusing.
Now I’m proceeding to ANF music. The material is quite fervent… I would never say, that it’s pure powerviolence, as this album combines a large share of hardcore, pun and a shade of thrashcore. Fast tracks with topnotch bass. Two unlike vocals… just what the nurse ordered! When listening to this album I was minded to dig out my old skateboard and take a spin through my hometown!
Rating: 7.5/10 ANF Nuclear Alcoholocaust rec

Faršas - Kažkaiptai Nejuokinga (Epileptic Media)
"Hello, do you have a minute to talk about our God - grindcore?" Oh, I've been waiting for this release for so long. Their previous album Bėdų Turgus got me really hooked! And the time has come and finally Epileptic Media showed us a photo with a ready-to-go release! Of course, I got this tape in my possession after a while. For starters, let's disappoint a bit those who expected the same Faršas as we heard last year. Kažkaiptai Nejuokinga is different in many things, different song style, such as the sound, the bass here sounds more like guitar. Overall it's more like traditional grindcore that sometimes takes some fastcore/powerviolence tropes, no mincecore influence, but "Seth Putnam"-styled vocal is still here :)
I listened to these 20 songs for 5 times or so, and without a doubt Faršas deserves to be noticed. This is a true killer grindcore with an outstanding blasbeats, awesome bass sound and overwhelming screams (with some pitch-shifters here and there). And one of the most noticeable songs on this release is Georgijaus juostelė, as I've been informed by band's members, it's about foolish fanatics of USSR system (by the way, it is performed in crust-punk manner). Also I would like to note a great cover on "Cool Guy" by legendary Spazz, well performed, to say the least, Chris Dodge and Max Ward would definitely approve this :)
Add a pleasing eye artwork and vinous-black desing of the tape to all that mentioned above and you got yourself a release worth having a place in your collection.
