Decomposing Serenity / Proctalgia

Noisy, evil, bubbling split of two one-man-bands, American dead dolls lover Decomposing Serenity and big fan of huge asses Proctalgia (Philippines)...
It seems to me that moving to America had a small influence on the art of Witter Cheng. His noise became more cacophonous, the material steered a little bit away from the gore madness which was familiar to the listener... Now there's more metal influence...But, I can't say I liked this. Motly guitar solos in the background are kinda funny. There is, a huge variety of vocals... pitch-shifted growls, some times croaking and funny, like gremlin squeals... About the sound, I can't say it differs with its solidity and juiciness, it reminded me of how bands sounded in the 90's.
Don't know why, but I haven't enjoyed the Proctalgia side of the split. It ended be kind of flat (both the cover and the music itself). The advantages are evil vocals and interesting guitar sound...and probably cute samples from old horror movies but the material is too monotonous. Of course everything is not so bad, some good pieces streak... But, very few. Decomposing Serenity: 7.5/10 Proctalgia: 6/10

Septic Autopsy – Spontaneous Emanation Of Rotting Smell Through Necropsy Process (Lymphatic Sexual Orgy Records)

Hmmm.... today we’ve got some goregrind from sunny Mexico and it means that before I start to review this CD I’ll need to take a shot of tequila, hehehe)) If I get it right, Septic Autopsy is a project of one sick guy (who calls himself a Shitter). After listening to this album I had mixed feelings... Our guy is trying to play in Lymphatic Phlegm style, but I don’t get it why?... but oh well, never mind. As many of you know, this country is full of shitty gore bands but Septic Autopsy is an exception. I can hear many good guitar riffs and rhythms here... and yep, it contains some boring parts as well, but in general, this album is not so bad :) Shitter tried to make the guitar sound similar to the Brazilian original and he succeeded. The only thing that I was not pleased with is the drum machine... it sounds too electronic and it's a bit annoying. But I must point out that this guy knows how to deal with pitchshifter because he made a great vocals here... low deep gurgling roar which fits perfectly the music carcass. And I was really impressed by the instrumental part in “Methods In Pathology”, the sound of gloomy violin among this fetid gurgling noise, putting it mildly, surprised me :)

Rating: 7/10    Septic Autopsy
