Humus - Eterna Condanna (Death Crush rec)

Humus is our target today. I want to talk about their last album “Eterna Condanna”. This LP is an excellent example of badass Crust Punk. This full length is like a small nuclear missile, it’s charged with destructive power. These guys managed to use so many of the classic Crust elements. From the riffs, to the structures, and even down to the furious energy. Even the artwork is made the old way (a marvelous collage with lots of elements) plus traditional black and white.
Eterna Condanna is a wild Rock and Roll ride that will keep you holding on by the seat of your pants. The crazed buzzing riffs and potent bass playing in conjunction with the maniacal half shrieked vocals quite frankly rides the line of madness. Twisting d beats will drive you crazy; this music can cheer up even a dead person, haha! You feel the band about to fall apart, but that's what makes Eterna Condanna so addictive. One of the album’s better songs, “Supermarket overdose” comes at the end of the album, and it stands out with its punchy sound pressure and fantastic catchy guitar solo.
If you`re into Crust music or you have a hangover, we recommend to you this kick ass album. This noise will cure a bad mood, and chronic depression.

Murders Calling - All You Need Is Violence (Death Crush Records)

It's time to drop more Grind into our channel! I can call this album super Italian because Murders Calling are Italians and the label that released them (Death Crush Records) is from Italy too. The main theme of this album is death and violence which is displayed vividly in the cover art. I don't know if this is a scene from some movie, but I like how it looks, especially with this muted colors. Also the theme of murder and other dark things was used as the opening for “All You Need Is Violence” (but I don't know what movie his sample is from). The intro abruptly passes into “Corpi a perdere” and this song perfectly reveals the essence of Murders Calling. It's pretty dirty, aggressive Grindcore with solid portions of Death Metal. Spearhead begins with a looping drum beat and quickly draws into a sea of guitar distortion. Ugly screaming and barbaric roaring are supported by trembling and low bass tone. The songs are all based around this formula with little variation between them. This is one of those albums where you think "I'm sure I've heard that riff before about 3 songs back", haha! The riffs aren't exactly reused over and over, there are many which are very, very similar in either construct and/or sound, but that's never been something that bothers me (it's a usual thing in this genre). Also I like these screaming guitar solos like in “All You Need Is Violence” track, that add some old school spirit into this album. But there is one thing that I don't get, why guys put 2 live songs in the end? Maybe they didn't want to leave empty space? In my opinion that was a bad decision, because it spoils the impression of the whole album. Rating: 7/10 Murders Calling fb

Repulsione - Desecrating (Death Crush Records)

This album crossed many countries, and overcame a lot of obstacles and adventures from the journey, from Death Crush Records, before finally arriving to my dirty hands. I have a lot of respect in all honesty for what our Italian friends released here. A whole lot of sweat and blood were put into this monster of an album. Good work takes a lot of time and that`s the reason this album wasn't released before the end of 2017 in digital format and vinyl version in the beginning of 2018. Talk about sound, riffs, puke and blasts comes a bit later I`d like to bring attention to the cover design of "Desecrating". The cover art which is a "masterpiece", was made by Luis Sendon (one of my favorite Spanish artists btw). He is also known as the bassplayer in Nashgul, but very known for his paintings. I am very possessed by this massive work. The artwork looks magical to me. There is so many cool details, elements to this and the main story is seriously cool stuff. My heart beats extensively of excitement every time i pick this piece of vinyl up, haha. "Desecrating"is extensively filled with massive mad brutality, and furious madness. Surprisingly the two bass guitars creates such a low tuned killer noise assault, which is totally devastating. The level of distortion is very even, and not overdone,it comes together as one unit. Mister Fastex and Head crashing chainsaw creates thunderous tremors which persist throughout the entire album. The sound of the snare is very clean, and fits perfectly to this album. In particular to the blasting moments. And one more lovely addition I like the fact these guys didn't build this album entirely with shredding riffs and blasting drums. Repulsione has many different approaches, slow "sludgy" parts, and mid tempo parts with some thrashy influences but of course also fast bowel shredding grinding moments. This album shows true and sincere talent. Rating 8/10 Repulsione fb
