Horsebastard – Giraffetermath (Dead Heroes Records)
...Then add a little milk into your cup of tea... wait, what is it all about? It's defenitely about last-year release of Liverpool band, weirdly named Horsebastard. When Canada is called modern capital of mince/gore bands, England is a motherland of new talanted powerviolence/grindcore collectives! Horsebastard started in 2010, but it took them 4 years to release their first serious work - Giraffetermath.
Dead Heroes Records is responsible for this material. 14 tracks are placed on 10' vinil. Well, guys made fun of designing: one side is called Horse and another - Bastard, reciprocally, lol:) Cover is gelastic! The artist, probably, was inspired by time-honoured movies about Blade and Robocop… He took some tea and got down to drawing, seasoning the work with tremendous English humour!
As I've already mentioned, there are 14 tracks, as energetic as tornado.
Fast moments are amplified by moderating groove. 2 different vocals complement each other extremely well. Ultratempo of guitar and drums truly regale. Short tracks, retaining craziness. Fans scrap their bones in moshpits, I bet! I would add for myself, that Horsebastard is a prominent representative of grindviolence scene, which has just started to form.

Coffin Birth - Necrotic Liquefaction (Dead Heroes Records)
Today is the day when we listen to the young and energetic bands! And again a band from the very unusual country caught my attention. A country where trains splash different animals on the rails. A country where even the cutest animal could kill you in the nick of time, and only aborigines and Bear Grylls would survive in the center of it, hehe)
Coffin Birth, pretty young band from Australia, and it already became pretty considered band, and not because they have a good PR or they’re on TV on the same screen with Oprah, no. It’s because they play really kickass grindcore!
My buddy once told me this is how Warsore would have sounded today. I should say I somewhat agree with him, they sure have some sort of spirit of this grindcore dinosaur. Coffin Birth recorded 9 tracks of mean and beefy grind. Even the first riff hits you like a kick in the teeth, heheh! Great mix of old school grindcore and death metal, you wouldn’t get bored of I, trust me, you’ll listen to it again and again!
Also I should mention here an overall design of this release. Dead Heroes Records did a great job on this one. This is one of the few releases that even holding this in your hands without listening makes you go crazy! 10-inch vinyl, one-sided considering the amount of material, but the back side, hehe, they cut out a star with laser, looks similar to star of chaos, but it isn’t. Looks great overall, and the art on the cover from famous Polish artist Zdzislaw Beksinski is like a final nail in the coffin!

Insomnia Isterica – Alcoholarchy (L'é Tütt Folklor Records, Balkongpønker Vinilers, Nuclear Alcoholocaust, Dead Heroes Records, Grindfather Productions, Hecatombe Records, RAPS rec)
Well, here's my first review on Swiss band's album. Today we'll talk about band called Insomnia Isterica and their latest release Alcoholarchy. To be honest, I always passed by this band for whatever reason, but now I have to apologize for this, hehe. 9 songs 10 minutes long overall, hmm. It only could be punk or grindcore, right? Well, here we have both! These guys perform great grindcore with old school punk! No super fast guitar riffs or supersonic blastbeats. It's not Nasum after all, hehe! But Insomnia Isterica is like a sip of a cold tasty beer when you got a hangover! They bring you back to life! Now I know what anonymous alcoholics listen to on their meetings, hehe!
The artwork is superb! The cover was made by one of the band's member, I guess they saved some money because of that. As I mentioned earlier about alcohol-inspired music, the cover fits perfectly for this release. Even I couldn't stand the desire and opened up a beer! Group of punk zombies eating flesh while drinking some rad booze! On the other side there's a vine with grapes, hops and wheat, looks like it's telling us that you can't listen to this record and still be sober! Also this vinyl has a nice olive color. Here's Alcoholarchy for you!
