Assück – Anticapital / Blindspot / +3 (R.A.P.S Records)
It`s pretty hard to write reviews on stuff like that. A lot of good and bad words had been written about Assück... but I will try to do it one more time. This year is pretty rich on different Assück re-releases, we even expect for discography really soon and there was also the shortest tribute. Hmmm, it`s very nice that this tape is not a unofficial, I guess I can say that is a licensed and proper re-release of "Anticapital / Blindspot / +3". All design/decorations was reimplemented for tape format, everuthing was kept in black and white colors (like in original) but the tape itself, man... it`s really beautiful... that translucent green case with all the inscriptions and logos.
People can say everything they want but they cannot dispute the fact that those Assück guys left a huge mark on the grindcore history (at the level with the other "mammoths" of the genre). Their low and sickeningly dirty guitars, drums that severely beat on your ears, vile thundering bass and the powerful roar of the vocalist captured the hearts and minds of so many fans. A portion of the raw aggression that guys deliver makes your lungs ask for more air so that your body can handle it! And all of the above, in addition to insane pressure, certainly gives Assuck the right to be among the best!

Assück – Misery Index (R.A.P.S Records)
Okay folks... I think that I can call this album a great and beautiful final. Misery Index became a final song for Assück. With a huge contribution in development and formation of the genre those guys deserve a bright and warm place in Hall of Grindcore Fame. It`s very good that people don't forget classic stuff even now and that this album was recently re-released on tape. And I must admit that is a serious release, because boss of R.A.P.S Records made his best and the cassette looks very awesome (design reminds me of old tapes from 90th, and that makes me feel very good)
Writing a big poem about this album is not necessary, we all listened to this record dozens or even hundreds of times. This nuclear mix of grindcore with death metal stench leaves a huge mark right in your brain. The sound of dirty and aggressive guitars makes your heart beat ten times faster. And great job of drummer and vocalist make nice and complete picture. Personally for me Misery Index rank in the top 25 of the best grindcore albums of all times.

Agents Of Abhorrence - Relief (RAPS rec)
And again hello Australia! I will never get tired repeating that this land has unique features that promote the growth of many mad and cool grind bands. I did not hear anything from Agents Of Abhorrence for long time, it was very likely that the band just split up. But they left a few good records which will be always reminding us of them. "Relief" was released on CD and vinyl by some big labels and, just recently, this album got a new life in cassette format. By the way this is the last work of Agents Of Abhorrence and it is slightly different from their previous stuff. If you listen to all discography then you will notice that the scale of madness and chaos in their songs is getting lower with time. Not that Relief is something like pop-grind or something, not at all! But in their earlier works guys were really crazy!)) I honestly don't remember how many times I listened to this album, and I am really glad to get this stuff for review. Fast and aggressive grindcore/hardcore by AOA catches you from the first notes. Decent intro followed by a hellish pressure and crazy guitar riffs... this is just awesome! Guitar sounds like a grenade explosion - with sharp pieces it bites right into your head. As for blast beats which drummer performs... they sounds like a Gatling gun shooting!
In general for me Relief album goes to the top 10 of coolest albums of australian underground scene.

Insomnia Isterica – Alcoholarchy (L'é Tütt Folklor Records, Balkongpønker Vinilers, Nuclear Alcoholocaust, Dead Heroes Records, Grindfather Productions, Hecatombe Records, RAPS rec)
Well, here's my first review on Swiss band's album. Today we'll talk about band called Insomnia Isterica and their latest release Alcoholarchy. To be honest, I always passed by this band for whatever reason, but now I have to apologize for this, hehe. 9 songs 10 minutes long overall, hmm. It only could be punk or grindcore, right? Well, here we have both! These guys perform great grindcore with old school punk! No super fast guitar riffs or supersonic blastbeats. It's not Nasum after all, hehe! But Insomnia Isterica is like a sip of a cold tasty beer when you got a hangover! They bring you back to life! Now I know what anonymous alcoholics listen to on their meetings, hehe!
The artwork is superb! The cover was made by one of the band's member, I guess they saved some money because of that. As I mentioned earlier about alcohol-inspired music, the cover fits perfectly for this release. Even I couldn't stand the desire and opened up a beer! Group of punk zombies eating flesh while drinking some rad booze! On the other side there's a vine with grapes, hops and wheat, looks like it's telling us that you can't listen to this record and still be sober! Also this vinyl has a nice olive color. Here's Alcoholarchy for you!
