Violent Gorge / Lt. Dan

Okay punks, this day finally came! I don’t even remember when this release was originally supposed to come out… I guess it should have happened a couple of years ago. But anyway, I`m really happy that this shit is finally out! Well let's traditionally start with the visual part of this smelly thing. When I first looked at this picture, what my mind said was something like “A rotting nation can birth only dead children”. I don't know if the artist meant the same but that not necessary. Its an old but nice piece work for Russian artist Jon, that guy has a real talent for this kind of art. Annndd here is a moment what the needle touches vinyl and booom! Dirty powerful blasts from maestro Joe and his guys. I've heard a lot of VG stuff and I can definitely say that this material is some of the best. Intense, aggressive, sometimes stupid and full of good fun. This record has pretty bad sound but no matter what these songs rock! Some swing riffs, fast and slow (dance) tempos will make you crazy. If you`re dirty noise freak then this stuff is 100% for you! If I'm remembering this right this is the last Lt. Dan recording. Well this stuff is pretty nice, raw Mince/Grind… but these songs remind me Agathocles and sometimes Archagathus. I don’t want to say that Lt. Dan is a clone but this material does not have its own distinctive feature. Nice raw sound, simple riffs and tempos which are typical for Mincecore and thats unfortunately all. It's a pity but, this record session did not touch me. Rating: Violent Gorge - 8 Lt. Dan - 7

Grinchfinger / Violent Gorge

This is a split full of noisy acid. The combination of these bands gave rise to an outrageous terrible sound. Its pretty interesting that both The Grinchfinger and Violent Gorge are very different acts, but no more smeared words. Lets press the big red button on our turntable and lets begin a party!
Children! Try to be more careful, because these maniacs are big acid fans. If you fall into their hands, they will put you in a barrel of acid and no one will find you again, hahaha! But seriously, Grinchfinger is cool band. This trio of grind maniacs made a rad mix with old death metal, mince and grindcore. There is a lot of death metal parts with very painful and sharp riffs and slow rhythms swings. Also there is more extreme things like a dreadful drums speeds. Lets not forget about those fast guitars and ugly vocals.
Next is a great sound medicine against lice from sir Joe! Hahaha! What a really raw mess! This low, heavy and dirty sound is as if woven from a multitude of small rotten, stinking and moldy pieces. Guitar riffs cut through a swampy wall of noise, but thats not all. These roars and screems... God damn! I can imagine a big scary slimy monster that howls in the sewer, hahaha! This strange mix between mince and noise is so simple and good. Joe plays what he likes, and I suspect that most of these songs are simply improvisations, really sweet improvisations 🙂

Violent Gorge & Plague

This vinyl traveled but-and-ben, the parcel arrived only with second shot. And even when I finally received it, problems resumed. It began to rain heavily and I had to race home like a bullet out of a gun, covering the postage with my T-shirt to keep it safe and secure, hehe. So, it worked out and now the record is all set to be prosected. Here two representatives of Canadian scene are: dirty mincecore on the one side and barbaric crust on the opposite. Violent Gorge is the project of guys from Archagathus, but higher in rawness . Secretly, I'm not a big fan of this band, but I found this very material worthy. Slow groove and fast noisy mincecore inosculate, abundantly swilled with bog water.
Well, I haven’t listened to Plague before. The guys play fairly good crust, surely hitting at grindcore! Nothing too special at first thought… but after listening to 7 tracks full blast, you understand that guys put their hearts into the material. Which I liked the most is vocals, sounding butcherly, hehe.
The visual part is penny plain. It’s quite no-frills, but here is the inlay, put midmost, which I took to right away – DIY totally, it’s bound to be at this rate! By the way, the vinyl is not habitually black; it’s mossy-and-blue with dissimilar stains. This colorful “rhapsody” became a welcome surprise for me.
