Sedem Minút Strachu / Cum Sock (Sick Phoque records)

Sometimes music can cure, some times not so much. Sometimes even simple noise can bring you back to normal life… My day was started with a stupid hangover and strong acute needs in some good noise. so I choose this yellow like piss tape and put it in my player… Well it actually helps, my head was cured with these lovely chaotic tunes and some cold beer. And now I want to write about this simple recipe. First of all you should mix two noisecore bands (from different sides of our planet), recorded their songs on tape (thanks Sick Phoque records), then play that shit at maximum volume and don't forget to add a few beers. Side A of this tape is something like shock therapy, Slovakian noiseheads Sedem Minút Strachu acting so harsh. That two bass guitar mess can crush your head. Honestly it's hard to believe that simple improvisation can be so aggressive, so silly and so heavy! A combination of wild yelling, roaring, screaming and mad drum beats (by the way, Jan has an interesting technic), low bass guitar sound and satanic harmonica makes this mess unique and memorable. And now we finally reached side B. Canadian Cum Sock is finishing our healing procedure. Seriously this small project cheers me up! This noise has so much punk influence, it sounds so great and goofy. Guitar is pretty dirty but, I can hear most of the riffs, caveman yelling makes this record even crazier. Part noise, Part punk, part hardcore… this mess is really nice. I`m feeling the guys had so much fun during this recording session, the emotions are perfectly transmitted and felt here. In the end I just only say that this tape became one of my favourite noise releases for year. Rating: 7.5/10 SMS bc Cum Sock fb

Deboned / Striver

Oh, these canadians, they can make you laugh! Just look at the cover art, ahaha. What an unattractive woman, and this drunk naked and dirty man is supposed to be her boyfriend, ahaha!) I open it and there in "thanks" part I see «no thanks to Devost for spoiling Star Wars», oh, I remember that moment, Deboned vocalist have made some fun of Disney SW fans, ahahah!) Hm, I went offtop, sorry... in short this is a split with two good canadian bands which was released by force of bunch of labels all over the world (which shows that by united forces of people many things could be done). Side А – Striver. On this split guys added a small portion of powerviolence in their chaos. This could be well heard at the beginning of first song, you can hear how slow the rhytm rises. Also this track is very long, it is 4 (!) minutes. I can't say this is the best material from Striver that I've ever heard but this 2 tracks are good enough. Maybe sound here isn't brilliant but everything sounds quiet evil (hysterical screams and growls, sharp guitars and drumming violence, here it is). Side B – Deboned. This grindcore is filthy like an old homeless, ahaha! Raw but pleasant sound, simple but warm rhytms... yeah, this is what you need for the good mood. I know these guys love old grind/metal bands very much and I feel it in their songs. Buzzing guitars, basement-like drums sound and also vocalists' screams...all this reminds of old school. And yes, it can't be managed without samples picked from different old movioes, hehe)

Blood Suckers - Fuck Milk... Got Beer? (Sick Phoque Records)

Just last year belgian label Sick Phoque Records re-released album of cult legend and long-defunct band Blood Suckers. Those guys were active in the second part of 90-th and left a decent bunch of records. And I guess that «Fuck Milk... Got Beer?» is one of the best of their creations. Originally this material was released at CD-r in 1999 and a fresh release was pressed on tapes with much better quality cover. Album hold so many songs and it is fucking long (as for grindcore of course) as much as 50 minutes! The sound is pretty dirty and raw, almost all material was written mostly in comic style. Fast screaming songs simple riffs and full pans of filthy noisy energy. I think that in the 90s, these guys were really badass and it is a pity that they did not play to our days. However for the end of those record I was tired of these sounds, that is almost an hour ov audio violence after all :) If you are a fan of such things as "Bllleeeeaaauuurrrrgghhh! " then you got to the right place! Also I think that this album will be enjoyed as well by traditional grindcore fans and by different noise freaks. Mucus ‎– Biesscore From Pollution Of Society For Shit And Prostitution In A Political Chaos In Fucking Anarchy Of Baraki (Sick Phoque Records)

Almost fresh album by belgian scene veterans!) And very cool that such hoary groups still haven't lost their strength and keep grind freaks pleased with news songs. Even though album was released on simple unpretentious cassettes, don't let it trick you. And also I have to mention the front picture. I got impression that this was made by a schoolboy and he drew it on his desk, haha !) This mini album has a very long title but it has only 13 minutes of sound... It's nice that when you hear the first notes, the mood just flies up. Those belgium peppers plays very nice and cheerful punk grindcore which makes you want to jump into circlepit, ahha!) The positive side there is that the vocalist uses different vocal techniques. Great drummer's set, that guy knows what he`s doing... And there is no too low sound of guitar and bass but this is not necessary here. I would even say that if the guys would go serious about getting the feisty and ultra-dense sound of guitars then album would sound very boring. But in this way we have a nice little sample of energy and good mood :)
