Only a lazy fan of extreme music hasn't heard that Psychoneurosis is back. After doing a successful split with AG and a bunch of cool gigs, these guys finally recorded a new album - this news cheers me up. Then, Selfmadegod Rec posted a preview song “Brexshit”... fuck...that was a brain-crashing song. So I started to wait for the whole album, and a few month later “The Fall Of Humanity” was in my hands…
I guess Psychoneurosis tried to prepare/warn listeners about unexpected fast and ugly grind fights, that why they started with and elegant, atmospheric, and slow intro. I must say, that was a great idea because “Modern Technology” (the next song) is damn harsh. Death-grind riffs collide with bloody good blast/polka beats to create some of the most efficient grindcore warfare of this shitty year. I love this brand, heavy sound with a bit metal taste, that sound is like an indicator… When I hearing it I know that I`m listening a band from Poland, hehe! Anyway this balls to the wall material has a ton of great songs with cool guitar sound, blasting drumming, and savage vocals. Psychoneurosis managed to create a really badass grind product.
Everything above is hidden in a well produced CD with badass cover art. Just look at this image, this crossover of “From Enslavement To Obliteration” looks gorgeous! Maybe this is a joke image, but fuck, the artist did a massive work with all elements, colors and other stuff. I freaking love this art and noise too!

Agathocles / Psychoneurosis
Do you remember Romeros movies? Do you remember how the dead came back to life? Sometimes it happens with old bands. Moldy Grind bastards Psychoneurosis are here again! This Polish squad is legendary, and it`s nice to see them alive. For the reunion split release they picked up Agathocles, well known noise terrorists from Belgium. All this noise was released under Selfmadegod records in CD format. I must say the result is very pleasant. 2 pieces of cover art (you can switch them to your own taste), band photos, lyrics and more. But in total we have here only 12 songs, that's not much but this split is really rad.
After a screaming intro, Agathocles starts their attack. That's what I call real Mincecore! I want to highlight the sound of this recording session. Also I noted 1 small lovely change in these songs. Jan used a pitch shifter! Just a bit, but it helps to refresh the songs, in my opinion. They sound heavier now. Guitar buzzing like a mad hive of bees, and the drums are raw and fast and the bass is crispy. This is one of my favorite AG release from this year.
Psychoneurosis do their best, the new material sounds heavy as fuck, haha! The sound has a slight Metal taste, also it`s massive and bulldozing. All the songs are dynamic and loud, so you won`t be bored. These guys used few different kinds of vocals, in my opinion that is good, because that makes the songs brighter. The guitar has rather Death Metal tone rather than Grind , but that's not bad at all. There is one thing that stands out in the swarming drumming. The cowbell sounds incredible here, it makes this Noise spicier.
In the end I can only say that I held in my hands a robust split with two epic dinosaur bands.

Psudoku - Deep Space Psudokument (Selfmadegod Records)
"Captain's log, Stardate 4040.7. We received emergency signal from our satellite in AL23000F sector. An identifier life form tried to contact us.
GGGG is on the way to mystical adventure”...
Psudoku is one of those extraordinary bands which are hard to understand, and if they have not hooked you from the first time, then it is unlikely that in the future you will return to them. This noise is so hot and spicy... it's the audio version of really bad drug tip, when your brain turns inside out. Listening to this, there is a lot of confusion (positive confusions of course) to be felt, mostly due to the obviously unstructured music, but also due to so little conceptual presence that this album has. It's very hard to explain to yourself what is this all about and it even harder to explain this music to normal people, ha! There are a ton of riffs that are written in the riff-break-riff formula, the changes are so constant and unexpected and the performance so fucking frantic! Guitar screams as loudly as possible! Besides the crazy guitar, I want to highlight work of the drummer... there are so many rhythm changes and the beats are so fast, holy shit! I left the main element for the end. The keyboard makes the main atmosphere on this album. All crazy, distorted space sounds was made by this instrument. There is so much work behind this album and it really impressive! My ears and mind is still hurting after listening “Deep Space Psudokument”, haha!
Boys and girls, if you want to be destroyed, go ahead and grab this album. But remember that you were warned about its craziness!

Sturmovik - Destination Nowhere (Selfmadegod rec)
Crust
band from Poland? Yes! Why not? Sturmovik is a rather young band and this CD is
only their first album. But I take my hat off to them, these guys put
everything that they had into this release and I felt that during listening.
But, for now let`s focus on visual pleasure that is the cover art of this full
length. I especially enjoy this piece, the artist has drawn an old plane from
WW2 with a bit modern flair but I like it. It looks very handsome with the band
logo. And if you open up the booklet, you will get a band poster, nice surprise
isn't it?
To be honest this debut album of Polish Sturmovik crashed around in
my mind for a long time. I was quite surprised with it’s quality and material
in general. All the songs remind me of the Swedish school of Crust, that was
odd to me, but on the other hand it was a pleasure too. These brilliant
musicians managed to create a really rock n roll album that could bite, haha!
Everything is tied together song writing wise, and the album flows nicely. The
music is heavy, well defined, with doses of melody that are simplistic yet
catchy. Songs like “Matters Not”, “Bad Earth, Bad Sons”, and “Trial By Fire”
feature plenty of catchy d-beat sections, fast punk riffs, and nice loud
screaming vocals. In fact, “Matters Not” has quickly risen to be one of my
favorite songs on this album. Very cool intro, swing and crashing rhythms, drop
of melodies, awesome solos, caveman d-beats, screams and a ton of catchy
moments. But after I put this CD in my player I discovered one frustrating
thing… it`s sound. I got the feeling that I was listening “Destination Nowhere”
on youtube and not from the CD itself. This spoiled the general impression of
listening to this album.

Agathocles - Commence To Mince (Selfmadegod rec)
Agathocles is pretty much an iconic band... they've been around forever. They are a very well known band, mostly because they are the inventors of mincecore, and they have massive discography. I believe they have more than 600 releases, it's a huge result for 30 years of existence. Today I will talk about their "Commence To Mince" album, this is the last full length at the moment (but maybe they are working on a new one while I'm writing this review, who knows?). The art for this album (I'm talking about CD version) has a very dumb design, haha! Ag just used their own photo, and, well, it's definitely not the best their cover. The booklet is huge and contains many photos from their Canadian journey and all of the lyrics, so all of the lyrics nerds can scream with Jan, haha!
Here is the negative thing that I noticed about Ag... with the years, these guys lost their energy and power. So many of the new records sounds pale, but in live action they are still very strong.
The CD version of this album sounds much better than the digital version from bandcamp, thanks gods, haha! I played it loud (it's necessary for mincecore), but it didn't catch my mind and soul. I felt a lack of power, perkiness and fire from the ass. Please understand me right, this recording session has a nice sound, good guitar tone, nice crusty noise from bass guitar and raw drums; but this is not enough. There were a few catchy moments, but that can't help revive "Commence To Mince". However, their cover of Desnutricao song "Orgulho Americano" is very invigorating and interesting - for me it`s the best track on this album.

Teething - We Will Regret This Someday
A year ago the Spanish noise machinery Teething released their first blasting full length album in the bands history of musical assaults). They put a lot of lifeblood and energy into this monster, and it shows in their tunes.
Teething is a modern fusion of jumping style Hardcore and Grindcore, mixed in with fast and sharp groovy parts, heavy breakdowns and clean production.
The coverart is made like a very bizarre collage of disturbing images from newspaper clippings, surrounding a dreadful main chacacter with beautiful eyes, and a nice attractive colgate smile, haha (Just kidding). The ungodly combination of bleak colors makes it look almost demonic, unsettling and fucking sick to be honest, I love it... I have both the vinyl and CD version of this, but especially the vinyl edition contains many wonderful tactile sensations.
This LP is a cesspool of swirling fury, tangled in with kicking riffs and high velocity grooves, perfect for moshing around. But I cant say that I dig this album 100%, probably because there's not much of the punk spirit in this work. Guitar has a modern clean sound, and fits perfectly to Teethings style.. Same can be said about the bass. The slow swingy moments give a good slamming asskick (of course for those who love that kind of things). The track "Just kids" is a good example of this. But my favorites are the killer blasting attacks,"Life is peachy" and "Take me to a doctor"... Of course theres plenty of other great samples from movies (?), with special sound effects, it makes it into an even spicier slice.
I kept the most important things for the end. “We Will Regret This Someday” has some good memorable songs, in my opinion it is very necessary, because who will care about blank music?

Antigama - The Insolent (Selfmadegod)
Antigama is a band who certainly stands out in grind scene. Their focus are more on the technical side of
things, and lesser on punk aspects. I
believe thats why this group is not for everyone, and even less for everyday
listening. Antigama really glorifies their home country of Poland. (how many
other famous extreme bands can you name from PL who does that?), I don't have
any idea, if Polish people really gives a fuck about that, haha!). The Insolent
is Antigamas 7th album in their discography, and makes a nice impression. The
whole design is a projection of Antigamas music. It's elegant, progressive,
atmospheric and crazy.Even schizophrenic at times too! The cover is
artistically well thought out also, using those pale colors, and really amazing
desert photos, plus the idea with these eyes is also pretty catchy.
This is a huge album on so many levels. While taking root in chaotic
grind and metal, it merges into a mad mix of technicality and ferocity. Not
even once do they let up, and give you time to breathe, or think about the
musical aspects, before the record is over, and youre looking at the CD player,
wondering what the hell just happened here. This album is loaded with
wonderful, and strange riffs, which pops up during the chaotic pace of the
songs. I especially enjoy the tiny pieces of free jazz elements, that makes
this sound even weirder. The Vocalist screams so hard and wild, while the
drummer kicks fast and so powerful. Our guys here literally spills out all the
negative energi and frustration they got...
If you’re at all into technical music, buy this record. You might not
listen to it that often, but you will certainly be blown away by what you hear,
and anyone who is a fan of strange, progressive experimental grind, should
definetely get their hands on this.
