Hypo Christians — Terror During Prayer (Haunted Hotel Records)
Hypo Christians can be described as the one of those bands that established how early 90s grindcore should really sound. Despite the fact this Texas team is alive for more than 20 years, their first full-length album saw the light in 2011. And the album turned out to be real good, but we would talk about it later. Design was done by Robert Mena and Ray Rivera, cover art is full of "love" for the christianity, hehe, we can see a reaper bringing some fresh bodies on a meat hooks also a flame which engulfs all the prayers. Burning churches, horned demons torturing lost souls... This is what you would enjoy on the cover art. I guess artists are the fans of black metal or maybe they are familiar with the dark side of christianity... Now lets check the contents of the wax: with no doubt I can tell this one is a tornado. The sound is massive as hell, it literally chops your head off. Guitar tone can saw you in half, I can feel it is already disintegrates my flesh. Bass vibrations together with a drumming destroys my body from the inside, and when you hear the vocalist you can feel the locust swarm surging from his mouth (like in the bible).

Unholy Grave – Fake World (Haunted Hotel Records)
There're people who prefer to eat raw vegetables, there're people who prefer to eat raw meat. I am one of those who prefer to listen to raw live record from legendary Japanese demons Unholy Grave!
Fake World was recorded long ago in 2009 on a gig with German thrash metal band Holy Moses! Unfortunately, everything was recorded with just mics, not with the soundboard, and the sound here is pretty dirty (they even let us know about it on the cover). There are 9 pretty famous songs (but I was confused when I realized that there's no Confession, one of the most of their famous songs). Despite the sound, I was able to feel the energy that comes out from the band to the crowd, and it's very important, 'cause no matter how good the sound and whatever expensive tools you use on the record, if there's no fire, then it's a waste of time.
It's quite funny to hear Takaho's screaming through the wall of noise, by the way =)
Artwork is pretty much what you would expect from Unholy Grave, everything was made by Takaho-san. The only thing I don't understand is why is he re-using parts of the old artworks on this? Knowing Japanese people, they rarely have problems with creativity. But, it's not that important and surely it doesn't ruin the whole impression.
Overall, it's quite good collectable release. I wonder how many records Unholy Grave released so far...

Embalming Theatre - Unamused Rancid Flesh (Haunted Hotel rec)
Bloody gore/death/grind from Switzerland - the land of mouldy cheese,
inaccessible banks and best watches, it took its pizzazz from criminal chronicles. In truth, living in morern sick changeable society depresses and frightens. Psychopaths hell around and crave for your sapid flesh.Let's face it, everyone once speculated on how human meat tastes. I am really obsessed with this kind of thoughts since the moment I've heard "Unamused Rancid Flesh". The record comtains 15 tracks of hell, provoking your dark instincts and transportong you to the epoch of troglodytes! The style of Embalming Theatre stirs up heated discussions among listeners, but there is no consensus on that. I class it as bony mixture of oldschool death and goregrind (its elements are wide-spread in Sweden). Record quality is superb, the sound is cool- what else could I ask for? I like saucy guitars, punk moments are blithesome. Art is classical.
I would say, there is a trace of rizzly and very talented Polish artist Zdzisław Beksiński (unfortunately, now-deceased). It is important to note that guys recorded the material at good old Schweine Sounds, that is why I highly recommend this release to admirers of Charles Manson and Jeffrey Dahmer!)
