Street Feet / Hallucination Realized (Rat Mix Records)

From the very beginning, our small noise society loved to do different splits. That shows respect to each other, and of course that was (and is) a good fun to make some splits with the friend bands. And now hold in my hands one of such cases. Two friend bands from USA on one small noisy tape - lovely!
Our first band is from Binghamton (New York State)... Street Feet is acting pretty aggressive, but their sound is far from brilliant ( it`s muted and messy). But aside from their dirty and goofy sound their riffs are badass… Short, sharp like like fragments from whizzbang! I can't say that this noisy is reach with different music variations, guys confidently hold to one direction, but is good to. This recording contains good portion of heavy energy and that is the main thing here (and for grindcore in general).
Our second band on this split is located in Rochester (New York). This band has a little bit of a different approach to recording. The sound of the Hallucination Realized side is great! Its much cleaner than their friends from Street Feet. I can honestly say that this guitar sound, riffs and the song structures are memorable. The whole record has a tiny death metal taste and that is a good sauce. Also I want to highlight the excellent vocals, these screams and yelling are damn good, they make these songs more spicy.

Organ Dealer - Visceral Infection European Tour (Rat Mix Records)

Tour stuff is always something special (in my opinion of course), bands trying to prepare themselves for the long road and take everything with them. Sometimes bands (and labels) make special editions of their old releases (for these trips). So when Organ Dealer visited Europe for the last time, Rat Mix Rec made a bunch of tapes for them. This tape is just a re-issue of their Visceral Infection album (with distorted old art) plus this tape has a small bonus, both songs off their Insomnia Chamber EP.

I listened to this album very attentively and I must say that Organ Dear covered many genres in their music. I guess the main base here is extreme metal and then grindcore and hardcore. These dudes sounds pretty modern (can’t say that I`m a big fan of that kind of sound), all is maximum clear and the whole sound is very sharp. Unlike many of other new acts in underground, O.D. sounds very technically, especially in the guitar and in drums. I also must admit that these musicians are pretty skillful, they perfectly cope with speed riffs, tempos and with high speed blast beats. But unfortunately I cant say that this album caught me. I was bored somewhere near the middle of the album. But I`m pretty sure that fans of Antigama, Rotten Sound or late Nasum will appreciate this tape.

Chepang - 1Love Demo 2017 (Rat Mix Records)

Today our theme will be Nepal, or rather the people from this country (who happily moved to live in the US). Today we will listen to the last release of Chepang (by the way it is the name of the poorest tribe in Nepal). This small tape was released a few month ago and it's something like a raw prelude to their very first full album (which hopefully will be released at the end of this year). What can I say? These guys really have crazy talent for creating mad noise. This 1Love demo is pretty short (only 5 minutes), if I understand it right then all the material was recorded the diy way (and it sounds correspondingly), also this tape has a pretty raw mix (hope that album will have another sound). On fast moments everything turns into a mash it`s hard to catch each instrument (but I guess it`s a usual problem for all live records). That fact upsets me a little because their first EP was like a chaotic bomb. But anyway it`s just a raw demo, just a small unhandled slice of the first album. There also are moments where the band decides to slow it down and at these parts, they sound almost like strange kind of sludge. Oh, almost forgot to mention the fact that these bastards love to use TWO drum sets (in videos that crazy stuff looks so badass)… unfortunately that is all that can I write about this dirty tape.
