Plague Rages – Greatest Tapes (Gozer Records)

I want to dedicate this review to our deceased comrade Antonio who reached the better world, sleep tight brother, you would stay in our hearts forever. 100 of pro-done tapes were released, Lemonade Joe from the cover proves us this one of a tape is a stone cold and would find it's place in your collection.
Greatest Tapes is a best gift to Plague Rages followers, they finally would check the old and not that old works of these brazilian veterans. This comp covers 1998 to 2009, starts from an unreleased song which is nice, and then you have got 9 tracks which were done for a split with Malasyan SMG which are filled with aggression that goes well with your adrenaline, wakes you up like a brazilian coffee. Nice recording quality makes us enjoy every instrument in the mix! The next ten songs are a rare ones, it is a 15-year-old recording for AGx split! Has a beard already so expect rawness like it's a jungle debris and enjoy it!We overturn the tape to side B and... I remind that this stuff from 98th, two first tunes are from comps, they sound real good and fast as hell, (especially "Que A Morte Venha") not that clean and produced which is great here, bass lines also can be heard surging from within. And then we have 5 tracks from the Desecration split, they reminds me every band's first steps when demo is done in an unprofessional way, sounds like musicians are doing whatever and it turns out like whatever. Production is too raw, you can decipher vocalists grunts from this whole mess. The tape is then finished with "Technologia A Servico Do Caos" tracks which are not my cup of brazilian coffee...
