Unpalatable Gore Offering 4 way split!

The "Unpalatable Gore Offering" is the fourth split from Choothar Tapes. This time Elliot Smith put together 4 bands from different and dark corners of our shitty planet. Art for this noisy tape was made with the use of lovely pink and grey colors. And fuck yeah, everything looks so cute, hahaha! First band in this split is Meatus. As many of you may know, this is a one man project with Joe (Violent Gorge, Archagathus) in charge. Usually the noise of this band stands out with its messy, raw and low sound. But these 6 songs have pretty shitty sound… The sounds are deafening and inexpressive. But I still can catch some good and primitive rhythms, riffs and good mincegore energy. Ugly distorted guitar is the first thing that you will hear here. These manic buzzing noises with pitch shifted roars keep all the attention. Well it's not the best work of Meatus, but let`s see what Joe will record next. Next band is from a pretty unusual place. Sulsa was founded in South Korea. Exotic or not these guys are totally in love with Goregrind. They've chosen a path close to old school Goregrind, at least that's how it was on their early works. So we have here 4 songs full of nice classical low sound and other attributes of good gore. I really like the tone of this guitar, it sounds cool, deep and catchy. I must notice that the vomiting vocals are in good balance with the other instruments. It does not overlap and does not mix into the mess. There is only one thing that I`m not happy with. It`s the cyber drums, they sound not so annoying, but they spoil the whole impression of this small Gore work. Our old friends from Switzerland they open side B. Nasty Face consists of only two man, but that does not mean that this music sucks. On the contrary, this dude manages to do something groovy, angry and full of fun! Screams, roars, distorted vocals all these different elements help to diversify the music. The parts with high screaming guitar riffs help this band to stands out. There's a lot of death metal riffs and tempos but they are not 100% classic, they're full of goofy punk energy. And I believe that that is the secret of this band. And yes, these “tupa tupa”, blast beat parts are great. I must admit, the guy behind Nasty Face are pretty talented. Orchiopexy is a new name for me… And they pleasantly surprised me. These freaks from Ohio are playing some raw mix of gore/mince and punk. The whole sound mixing of their side is freaking raw but, somehow these noises sound very catchy. The clanking bass is the main thing here, it stands out from all the music, and it brings some stupid punk spirit. The guitar is noisy somewhere in the background, almost the same with vomiting vocals. But, the drums and bass are on the first line. These guys end their sound torture with a cover of Ahumado Granujo (which is pretty impressive). PS: This is a tape for Gore freaks only! Rating: 7.5/10

Little Puppy Princess - Anti Scum Human (Hotel Broslin Records)

I`m pretty worried about people is South Korea, it seems that they have caught a strong and powerful Grind virus. For just few years their local Grind underground has grown up. And I'm really happy with that, because now we have more great Grind bands in our small family. So today we will speak about the latest release of Little Puppy Princess. This mad trio started only a few short years ago, but a few months ago they visited Australia on tour (and that was impressive). Our friends made some positive changes… They've grown up and they're mutilating the dead with some wicked old school Grindcore. This has heavy effect on their sound and riffs (we will talk about that a little bit later) and that also has effecte on their art. Just look at this collage! Okay I can can agree with the fact that is not unique, but this one looks badass! This one was made in 100% Grindcore fashion.
So “Anti Scum Human” is receptacle for being 10 very fast, dirty, short and good songs. As I said before, the sound has changed, now it's more clear, maybe even heavier… Song structures have become more rigid and direct. The guys are trying their best, they shoot you in a barrage song by song. They don't want to give you time to breathe or time to open your beer. And I must admit that they sound even more aggressive now than ever. I like how this guitar sounds, it's still a little bit messy but now its full of buzzing energy. The same can be said about the drums, now these beats sounds more confident and more powerful. So in the end I can only add that I'm really happy to see and hear these positive changes in this band. Hope that their next release will be even more powerful! Rating: 8/10 LPP bc LPP fb

Nakay/LxPxPx (Grindfather prod)

As you all know grindcore has pread everywhere. This strange, fast, yelling and aggressive kind of music helps many people to release their own protests, to relieve stress or it can help you to convey somebody's own vision of this world. Well like I said this genre is everywhere and today I want to talk about two interesting representatives of this extreme direction, Nakay (from USA) and Little Puppy Princess (from South Korea). This release is short and it has a very strange cover. It's really first time when I see something like this. A man with his dog is jumping into the water (wtf?)... strange choice for the cover 😉
This small split starts with the Nakay side. Well alphabetical order is our order so let's begin with this band. Our American friends are well known in the Grind world. They've got a lot of records and this one is the latest. This side flows very well, I'm literally stuck to my speakers, haha! I have been attacked with some nice raw sound and dirty blastbeats! They managed to create a really powerful guitar sound, these 6 strings sound really buzzing. But this 4 minutes is rich not only with crazy grindcore, but you will alsp hear a lot of badass death metal riffs (which the songs even better). And different kinds of vocals (these fits her perfectly, btw) ends this list.
Little Puppy Princess (what a weird name) is a pretty messy 3 piece band. These trio are acting fast, dirty and with huge load of ferocity (they seriously remind me some of old Japanese bands, with that aggression). The whole sound is unclean and muddy… sometimes I can't recognize the guitar sound. All the instruments are clumped together… but that's not the point. The main point is in the energy of this release. You should just relax and feel this wall of really mad energy. These guys tried really hard, they spent all their power on what they had. I'm almost certain they recorded these songs on the first take.
Ah yes, I almost forgot, play this split at maximum volume!
