Unpalatable Gore Offering 4 way split!

The "Unpalatable Gore Offering" is the fourth split from Choothar Tapes. This time Elliot Smith put together 4 bands from different and dark corners of our shitty planet. Art for this noisy tape was made with the use of lovely pink and grey colors. And fuck yeah, everything looks so cute, hahaha! First band in this split is Meatus. As many of you may know, this is a one man project with Joe (Violent Gorge, Archagathus) in charge. Usually the noise of this band stands out with its messy, raw and low sound. But these 6 songs have pretty shitty sound… The sounds are deafening and inexpressive. But I still can catch some good and primitive rhythms, riffs and good mincegore energy. Ugly distorted guitar is the first thing that you will hear here. These manic buzzing noises with pitch shifted roars keep all the attention. Well it's not the best work of Meatus, but let`s see what Joe will record next. Next band is from a pretty unusual place. Sulsa was founded in South Korea. Exotic or not these guys are totally in love with Goregrind. They've chosen a path close to old school Goregrind, at least that's how it was on their early works. So we have here 4 songs full of nice classical low sound and other attributes of good gore. I really like the tone of this guitar, it sounds cool, deep and catchy. I must notice that the vomiting vocals are in good balance with the other instruments. It does not overlap and does not mix into the mess. There is only one thing that I`m not happy with. It`s the cyber drums, they sound not so annoying, but they spoil the whole impression of this small Gore work. Our old friends from Switzerland they open side B. Nasty Face consists of only two man, but that does not mean that this music sucks. On the contrary, this dude manages to do something groovy, angry and full of fun! Screams, roars, distorted vocals all these different elements help to diversify the music. The parts with high screaming guitar riffs help this band to stands out. There's a lot of death metal riffs and tempos but they are not 100% classic, they're full of goofy punk energy. And I believe that that is the secret of this band. And yes, these “tupa tupa”, blast beat parts are great. I must admit, the guy behind Nasty Face are pretty talented. Orchiopexy is a new name for me… And they pleasantly surprised me. These freaks from Ohio are playing some raw mix of gore/mince and punk. The whole sound mixing of their side is freaking raw but, somehow these noises sound very catchy. The clanking bass is the main thing here, it stands out from all the music, and it brings some stupid punk spirit. The guitar is noisy somewhere in the background, almost the same with vomiting vocals. But, the drums and bass are on the first line. These guys end their sound torture with a cover of Ahumado Granujo (which is pretty impressive). PS: This is a tape for Gore freaks only! Rating: 7.5/10

Obstreperous Mangling Botheration (Choothar tapes)

Goregrind much like a deadly plague,it creeps around the world… It seems that this genre became pretty popular in our small underground world. There are so many interesting new bands and new nasty releases from old names. So today I want to talk about this muddy international tape which is in my top Gore releases for this year. One tape, 4 slimy bands from Russia, Switzerland, Australia and UK. Cystoblastosis are the first who will release their noise to us. First of all I want to say that I`m feeling some small changes in their music (I guess it`s because of the new guitar player). Like always that dirty act from St. Petersburg has many catchy things (mostly in tempos and riffs), but the whole sound became lower. You can especially feel it in the guitar sound (that buzzing mess is heavy as fuck). But in general it's the same goofy, groovy and loud Cystoblastosis which we know so well. Next is the last recorded material from Australian Take That Vile Fiend. These guys killed me (and not only me) with their full album, so let`s see what they've prepared for us today. Hm, this material is very raw and noisy, but also this stuff is very aggressive and loud. I like these slow guitar riffs, they bring good atmosphere (sometimes those buzzing pieces remind me of some sort of strange black metal) and of course we can't miss out on these dirty blast beats (that blasting is creating a real mess). Side B is starting with Nasty Face (as I know it`s their last recording too, for this moment). This time our Swiss friends prepared a bunch of good covers. They covered bands such as Regurgitate, Dahmer, Embryonic Cryptopathia, Famine and Grossel. All of these covers were recorded with NF`s branded sound. It`s pretty hard to describe these noises, you all know these songs and you all know that NF don’t like to record bad stuff. So just put this tape in your player and enjoy the good punky gore! Regular Sized Rudy is a new name for me. It's said that this is a one man mincegrind band from the UK (Leeds). Well I must say that the whole material is influenced by goregrind, and this raw recording tastes good. All songs have the main attributes of mince, all of them are muddy, stupid, fast and groovy. Super simple riffs, pitch shifted roars and big load of fun. I`m pretty sure that this is a debut release for this band, well that guy managed to do some nice work. Rating: 8/10 Nasty Face Cystoblastosis

Precocious Gargling Audacity (4-way split)

About a year ago Choothar Tapes started to release these kind of splits. To date, they have released 5 splits in this series (they are united by a similar design and also Nasty Face is on each of these tapes). So for this noise journey we will start with this yellow (like piss) 4-way split which was released in the middle of last summer. This mess starts with good low vomit tunes from French Grossel. These bastards found their own way to curb raw primitive rhythms and sounds. These songs are full of groove and fun tunes and energy. I especially like the guitar sound… It's so low, dense and heavy. Ugly distorted roars, raw blast beats… and moldy sound. This band sets a good pace for this release. Nasty Face is up next. If you`re trying to find good Gore stuff (which sounds like in the old days) then your search is over. Chainsaw guitars mix with vomit yelling give birth to something dirty and nasty. Also I really like the raw and barbaric sound of the blast beats. But this noise mess consists not only of Goregrind madness. I feel a big influence of Death Metal (especially in the guitar riffs). Next is something pretty weird, something from the tomb of the British island. Chinsniffer are playing very crazy mix of grindcore, hardcore, noise with addition of some chaotic tunes. These guys surprised me, I did not expect to hear something like this, haha! Here there are chaotic riffs, sharp tones, powerful tempos and good sound. An endless stream of furious energy… This thing will make you jump. But unfortunately these guys only recorded 2 songs for this tape (what a shame)… And this split ends with Bloodsnorter. I must admit that this is a really nice way to end this story which is called Precocious Gargling Audacity. These bastards birthed 9 loud and crazy songs for this release. This fast mess reminds me of tunes from Brutal Blues (or Parlamentarisk Sodomi which is almost the same). I guess the main point here is chaotic speed, guys are breaking the pace all the time. They use all attributes: Speed, simple riffs, nice blast beats, a few different kinds of vocals and then they put it all together in musical equivalent of a famous Lewis Carroll story. Rating: 8/10
