Corrodent - Demo

Corrodent is a new socio-oriented grindcore band from Germany. So obviously, all lyrics are about life, filthy minds, pollution of the planet, and so on. You may say that that is old-school, and you would be right, but don't forget that we are living in very hard times with wars, dirty air, shitty food, and brainwashed society. In my opinion, it's good that people are trying to scream about our problems and make some protest - same with this one man project. That theme was perfectly drawn by Jhonny Roadkil; animal protection, nuclear waste, everything looks perfectly in protest way. 9 songs, 9 minutes - I guess it's more than enough for presentation. This is just a debut work, but it can bite and that is always good. There is a weak and strong points at this records. I want to start with positive stuff... One thing that I like in this record is the sound. Everything was mastered pretty amateurish but the final result sounds good. I like this kind of raw sound, it helps to understand and see the core of this band (call it music without makeup). We have a good guitar sound and not annoying drum machine; the vocals sound very primitive and evil, which is good, but there is some parts where it can clutter all of the instruments. And now - I will write some negative impressions of mine. The songs sound pretty similar, same with riffs... I perfectly understand that this is just a first steps, but on the last minutes of this demo I caught myself on the fact that I was bored. Rating: 7/10 Corrodent bc
