Headless Death - A Hideous Warning (Regurgitated Semen Records)

Wow, I can’t believe my eyes… One of the most disorganized bands (in Australia for sure) finally released their first full length album! I know that they had recorded almost all parts more than 2 years ago (pretty huge delay isn’t it?) but the final mixing was made only now. That`s pretty suck, but I`m truly happy that this recording wasn`t lost in time. Before putting this CD into my player I want to check the visual part of this release. A Hideous Warning has two covers. First, a choked moron (with a garbage bag on this head) and the second one is monstrous black & white collage (that rotten Iguana looks fantastic!). You can choose which one you want to show to your mother, haha! And now, it's time to dig deeply into these noises. First of all I can honestly say that these songs are impressive. The whole album is like a 20 ton primitive beast! Violent, barbarian, extremely aggressive… A Hideous Warning is some really strong work. The whole sound of this album is soaked with ancient mold and rot. I can clearly feel influences of old grind bands such as Repulsion and Terrorizer. The sound of the guitar is so heavy and low, also it has a tiny taste of death metal. The same can be said about bass and drums, there is not any hint for modern things. This album has a great heavy and dark atmosphere; you will really feel it in the end of the album... These guys managed to create something really rad with only a few simple riffs. Hm, that is insane, how can this small piece of plastic cause the most primitive feelings (I really felt how the anger fills my veins)? I have a super strong feeling that this album will fall in top 10 grind albums of the year!

Caper - Punks Vs. Government E.P.

I did not even know about the existence of this release. I was sure that Joe Caper ended his music activity after Righteous Pigs death. So this small release became a good surprise for me. As I understand this is a solo project of Joe's. Hmm... what a strange choice, designer put a photo with a cop cars on the front (I think that it symbolizes "Government " and power) plus he put a photo with a burning snack-bar on the back (I guess its for "Punks" and anarchy). This vinyl opens with a nice groovy riff (R.I.C.O. is full of these jumping swing rhythms and energy) that builds up into a strong metal hardcore (but there is not only hardcore, believe me there is still a small drip of punk/ grind)... Main song "Punks Vs. Government" is the best one (in my opinion). This one is full with simply rotten and noisy riffs and tempos... This song is real old hardcore punk (with grind soul). Next is "My World" and "The Klan", both are groovy (again haha). Do you feel these vibrations and the powerful noise wall? It's a flashback into the 90's (with low sound, honest emotion in the songs, etc). I guess this EP will not be liked by fans of modern hardcore and grind. But if you`re in nostalgia for old time’s sake then this is what you really need. Rating: 7.5 You can buy this EP at RSRec

Crack Under Pressure ‎– Uneasy Peace (Regurgitated Semen Records)

This review is my way to correct a mistake I’ve made since I’ve discovered this band only now. The Crack Under Pressure are pretty strong representatives of the German school of powerviolence. The work which is called Uneasy Peace was recorded back in 2014, but released only in 2016 (and it`s strange for me because this material is of very high quality). Design of this EP slightly reminded me of good old Neanderthal (with a Stone Age theme)... This skull of an ancient predator and stone arrowheads indicate that we will have a very rough and aggressive greeting. And yes, there is a very unfriendly welcome here... Gun In Your Hand gives listener a huge punch in the face, promising that it will get only worse. Aggression is the strongest side on this vinyl. The speed and fury can be heard in every single track of the record. It really feels that guys put all the rage and anger that they only got into this record (and I believe that this moment is a very important). The efficient work of the rhythm section is making a powerful basis, and it wouldn’t have sounded this cool without it (and yeah, this bass guitar sound is very tasty). Another distinctive feature of the German fast scene is that fact that bands are taking the old hardcore as a basis rather than this new-fangled rubbish and it makes their music so much more interesting (young bands sometimes have this old school spirit which is cool)

Great proposition from Regurgitated Semen Records!

RSR is starting the X-mas special selling days. They will sell very limited packages and hard to find records, so if you are looking for a good piece for collectors - keep an eye on the RSR BIG CARTEL page!

Agents Of Satan & Paranoid Freakout ‎(Regurgitated Semen Records)

Sometimes I want to experience the atmosphere of old american wave of grind/harcore/pv from 90th... yes, now we have many good modern bands (I dont want argue with that) but they play not that kind of stuff. And those moments make it worth listening to this split, it certainly deserves the attention of nostalgic freaks) Fuck! Of course I've heard some similar stuff, but very rarely. The guys managed to make some darkness and aggression without any ultra speeds. This sound is realy raw and evil. This is truly an old atmosphere of "golden age of powerviolence & hardcore". Especially I am touched by this diabolical bass guitar sound, oh, it is a real cherry on top of the cake. The recording of this material dates back to the 2012 year, I think that this is the last thing that we could hear from Agents Of Satan, although the hope dies last.
