Today I want to tell you about a band from my hometown Kyiv (yes, it's
near Chernobyl lol). "Fuck It, Drive On" does not exist any more, but
their EP «Take care of your skull and your bones» deserves attention and
has at least some value for local historical underground.
The cover
art is quite funny, it was drawn by quite famous artist from St.
Petersburg John (he draws covers for Internal Damage). The drawing is a
picture of a drummer taken frome a real photo, the dude got moved in a
two-dimensional world.
Guys recorded instruments at once on one of
the capital's DIY studio located in the basement of a century-old
building. The vocals were recorded later in a basement of an old rusty
garage (process of vocals recording). That's why, probably, the record is so raw. The guys did not
bother with supersound. Sometimes we can hear the conversation between
tracks: this is not professional, but I liked these bloopers.
5
tracks contain a crazy hysterical vocals, which goes with the sick
guitar and bass riffs. I can not say that drummer is doing hyperfast
blast beats, but his skill is quite enough to fit in a pack. Sometimes
guys fly beyond grindcore classic style and do some psychedelic shit
(such as on "Do it fag, be a hero)
