Merciless Scum - The Meek Inherit Nothing (Grind State Records)

Mail days are always the best for us here at Good Guys Go Grind. And today's mail brought me an absolute gem of an album. Tampa,Florida 4 man Grind Unit Merciless Scum were a foreign name to me until this CD and it is a monster! Starting out let's take a peak at this artwork. It depicts what I can assume is the skeleton of a capitalist politician at a podium surrounded by corpses,crumbling buildings and toxic waste barrels. Such a straightforward but brilliant piece of art. It speaks volumes about what we are in store for.
Starting things off witch an audio clip as many good Grind bands do, Merciless Scum bring a level of ferocity that's almost unparalleled. Blistering riffs,machine gun blast beats,shrill ear drum splitting high and Guttural lows. This is everything I personally look for in a Grind band. It's very clear by their song titles that Merciless Scum do not give a shit about politics or money hungry capitalist pigs. From the opening track You are all Sheep to the title track, The Meek Inherit Nothing. This album is relentless,bloodthirsty and just flat out pissed off.
