Mongólico - S/T
And today I wanna talk about a nice casual findings. I discovered this band few days ago and without noticing it, I listen to this release more than 10 times, hahaha) I was always thinking that Columbia is country of cocaine, cigars and old soviet cars (sorry for my meager knowledge, I did not mean to offend anyone) and few noisy bands, and boom! But first I will tell you about Mongólico. This band is based in Bogotá city and it consist of 3 guys. It was started in the beginning of 2016 and this tape is their debut work. It`s plesure to see that cassette designed with love, and not made carelessly. Let the design be very simple (I really did not understand who is depicted on here, whether it's a bum, or maybe it`s battered hipster, hahaha) but it is not bad at all
So gettting back to business. After recording 12 songs, the guys decided it was time to show off to people. There are pluses and minuses (like everywhere). Definitely a plus is the material itself, it is very easy to grasp, and it is full of energy. The downside here is the recording, I guess guys made it in basement or in the garage, the sound is pretty raw (but from other side you can say that is good and true). Most of grind freaks will definetly love that chainsaw guitar sound. Various vocals, metallic crunch of bass guitar and drum chaos. Yep, it is definitely very good for a debut work. I do not want to crack up but really well done guys.
