We have a new drummer like 7 months now. Looks like he is the right one. After we had a bad experiences with our last 2 drummers. And he is really young t campare the rest of the band. But for us its not important. He wanna play and it’s the most important for us. We start to make a new songs for third CD / LP which we wanna record this year.
Recently you joined Czech band Lycantrophy! How did you got there and do they show some signs of wolf disease when it's full moon?)
I play in LYCANTHROPHY like 2 years now. We talked about this years ago that I can join. But 2 years ago was a good time to make it. Zdisa was pregnant so band wasn’t so active to play live shows so we started to make a new songs and start to play. Now is Zdisa back in band and we will go on 2 weeks US tour this year around MDF. We are really good friends with all members for a years. And we have a label together with Ondra and we organize PLAY FAST OR DON’T fest too. Yes they have my signature with my blood. I must made it.
I know its hard. Sometime its our fault sometime not. During years we had different problems with drummers, practice places and stuff like that. So write new songs was really hard sometime and now we waited for N.I.B.I.R.U. guys to make a artwork and send me all stuff I need. TERSANJUNG13 will record new tracks with their new vocalist. And about split with LYCANTHROPHY it’s a long story. Hahah. They have so many records to get out but now I play with them so we finally release this split. Than we get cancelation for split with PLF that was delayed from our side. And finally we recorded our tracks they cancelled. The same split with SEWN SHUT. So I hope it will better from now till end. We have a new drummer and a new practice room so all will be a perfect I hope.

And few more a little bit older but released in 2014 like ARCHAGATHUS / DEAD ISSUE split 7”EP (200 BLACK / 100 RED), DEAD ISSUE s/t 7”EP (200 BLACK and 100 CLEAR) co-released with Ely from BLOODY SCYTCHE records. NEEDFUL THIGNS / COMPULSION TO KILL split 7”EP (only 100 YELLOW) co-operation with GRINDFATHER Prod and BUTO GRIND SHIT records from Malaysia. Then INTERNAL ROT / MANHUNT split 7”EP (600 BLACK and 200 YELLOW) co-released with 625 THRASH and LETHAL DOSE records from Australia. Yes we have a new line-up. We must kicked out our drummer because he was unreliable last two years. He was with us 5 years and recorded Tentacles of Influence and he recorded our new songs for upcoming split 7”EP?s. But last year was shit with him. He drunk a lot so we decided to stop play with him. So actual line-up is: Otto – bass, Roman – guitar, David – guitar, Tomas – vocals, Jarda – drums. Only me and Roman are in the band from beginnings and Tomas is in NEEDFUL THINGS from 1998 and David from 2000. So only one and main problem for the band are drummers. But now I hope we found a right one.
Could you make you fans happier and tell us what're Needful Things preparing now? I heard you write songs for your third LP, anything else?
Ok I think / hope I have a good news for you. We started to make a new songs for our third full lenght LP / CD / Tape which we want to record this year. We have 5 new songs ready for this album. And few others are ready to make. And because we have 20th Anniversary of NEEDFUL THINGS this year I think its good to record and release full LP / CD. And we will release a few new releases which we recorded it at 2013 with our old drummer. And it will be out early this year. And this is NEEDFUL THINGS / N.I.B.I.R.U. split 7“EP, NEEDFUL THINGS / TERSANJUNG13 split 7“EP and NEEDFUL THINGS / LYCANTHROPHY split 5“EP which will be released after more than 10 years we talked about. Finally!!! We have some offers for split 7”EP?s so we will see what we can do. But our main goal is a record full length this year. We will go on short tour with awesome Czech grinders CONTROLLED EXISTENCE in April. We will play in Germany, Poland and Slovakia. And we wanna play more shows this year too. I think about to make some bigger show at our band birthday. And we talked about mini tour in Italy at autumn. So looks like good year for NEEDFUL THINGS.
When I met my old friend when I was at holiday from school at my grandmas house. He gave me some good tapes and all started. I was like 14 years old and from that time I knew that I wanted play in a band. At 17 years I bought my first bass which I still have at home and than we started to play at some not important bands. I practiced everyday one hour like one year. Was fun. At 1995 we started NEEDFUL THINGS. And I really like to play in the band. And always looking for a next show and another tour. I really like touring. You can always see a new people and new places. Meet some good bands. I need more time to be on tour. Fuck work :D And believe me its not a hard life for me :D
Do you keep posters of your gigs, and not only yours maybe? Is there by any chance all these posters on your walls in garage and rehearsal place?)
Sure I try to have all posters and fleyers. But never put it on the wall at my flat or practice room. Life is sometime hard and you must move to others places and its hard to take it from the wall. I have it in the box under my bed. But wanna put all I have on the internet. But its on a long time.
Sorry this one is really hard. I don’t wanna hurt somebody that I write some shitty albums here. All musicians need to have so own glory. Like I released some record. Its always a good to have your music in your hands. On tape, CD, Vinyl whatever. You know.
Long time ago you had a gig in my hometown Kiev. How was it, what were the most memorable things there?)
Mini tour at Ukraine was really nice and good. Kyev was perfect too. We hadn’t so much time to see whole city but we played at any old communist buildings with proletar and communist drawnings. Was really fun because we know it from Czech communist era too. We played only 2 shows. One Kyev and one Uzghorod. Lvov was cancelled but we can sleep at any flat. When we crossed borders we went wrong way and there want chance to get on a good road. So we were at mountains and follow borders with Slovakia. Was really good experience. No GPS no any good map. Crazy. The whole trip was really good. We went fast through any village and our drummer talked me he police with speed radar. And I talked him go and don’t stop. Next village they stopped us and was really hard to talk with them. They gave money and leave us. Was fun on a whole trip. And I can talk about problems at borders too. Police wanted money but we don’t wanted to gave them so they stopped there 2 hours.
I really don’t know what I can say. Its really big problem everywhere and all problems have some origins. The nearest problem for me is situation on Ukraine. I really don’t know where is truth. Because media can show you what they want and whats approved and you can blindly follow or you can try to make own opinion. I think there is some pressures from USA which is main problem / goal to break Russia in world control. And some causes are oil and world control. There were some pact after second world war which splitted Europe after war. And when Gorbatchov let fallen communism there were another pact that Nato never will be near to Russian borders. And now Ukraine wanna be in Europe and in Nato. Tell me what do you think about it.
I don't mean to be offensive here, but Czech Republic is also well-known for a large number of porn actresses. Why a lot of women choose this kind of job, in your opinion?
I really don’t know why so many Czech girls make a porno. Maybe they wanna be rich and make big money as soon as possible. Maybe they have some social problems. Or maybe they love sex. I think its all reasons but you should ask them. And maybe you get right answers than.
Internet is everywhere right now, it helps with business and also can ruin people. What about you, do you spend a lot of time surfing web?)
I think internet is good. Sure there is minus and plus but I am into it. All is faster and you can find all info you want / look for on internet. I still remember time when I wrote normal letters and glued stamps to use it again. Email is faster and social networks are faster. All online communication is good. I spent daily on internet maybe 3-5 hours. Its really bad. But I can still play football with my friends, going at practices, work. I hope internet will be available to more people and I hope / believe there will be freedom for information without any censor shit. Its important I think. China censored and prohibited some websites and Russia start similar thinks. Its really strong media to control people. Not everybody want / have energy to find some info and make own opinion. But I think internet is good. For me if I can say.
We have few typical foods but I don’t know how to translate :D I know its cliche but I can eat all. I am not vegetarian but I eat half meat and half vegetarian. I know it can sounds crazy but I check what I eat.
