Welcome to our grind radio! Take your seats and grab a beer!)
Hector - Hi Alex!! Sorry for the delay, thousand of issues; here we go!!
Alex - Hi! Let's do it!
You released tons of splits, a couple of compilations and only one album in 13 years. What's the deal, guys? Who's slowing down the process of LP-making?)
Hector - We are very slow composing, that’s our main problem. In grindcore, we feel that small 7” recordings work better, faster and more straightforward. A grindcore LP nitpicks, unless you record a "From Enslavement To Obliteration" or an "Horrified" in 2015.
We never set dates to ourselves to record, neither pressure. We always give thousand spins to things until we are 100% accordant, if not you may find yourself in the trouble of releasing lengthy uninteresting records.
Even so we have an LP prepared that we will record at first 2015 and I can assure you it is the best we have ever done until this day!
I googled a little and was surprised that almost every artwork was made by your bassist... It's kind of amazing to have such talent in a band! Did he learn in some art school or is he more into self-education?)
Hector - Yes, it’s really good for us because we have no dependency of third parties. We write the songs, we book our tours and we do our artwork. Everything so DIY. We just need the help of a technician to record our music.
I know Luis studied in the art school of the city, but he is most self taught through work.
He has done covers also for other bands such Brutal Truth, Macabre, Agathocles or Czech Obscene Extreme Fest.

I guess it's pointless to ask about your love for old horror movies. I only ask about how did you come up with an idea to transfer the idea of a movie "They Live" in your creations? Do you believe in world conspiracy?)
Hector - How we did to transfer that idea? It is easy. Just look around yourself, you are watching what you are living day after day. It is funny how a lot of sci-fi movies showed in the 80’s unimaginable things and as a day of today we are so used that you don’t even realize.
Neuromarketing we suffer day after day without even know or “False Flag Terrorism” operations are the order of the day; if you check a bit they have been happening more than a century without any hesitation.
Though I must acknowledge that my favorite is MK Ultra project developed by the CIA in the 50’s, operations for mental control with drugs for torture sessions or isolation.
Alex – When fiction fucks reality is a good moment to ask yourself if everything's fine or we only suppose it as logical so... is a good point to make lyrics and translate some ideas, is kinda like read a book.
Hector, tell our readers a little about your project Come Back From The Dead. I literally gone wet when I heard it, hehe!)
Hector - Come Back From The Dead formed in 2008 by Marcos (drums) and me (guitar). We have been active until 2009 where we had a stop until 2012, when we returned to activity recruiting new members to do a band.
In middle 2014 we started the recording of our first LP “The Coffin Earth’s Entrails” recorded here in A Coruna in “Estudios Monte Alto” and mastered in the Unisound Studios by Dan Swano. At first 2015 it will be released a gatefold vinyl version and a CD version by the label Black Seed Productions. If anyone is interested he can give it a listening

Only the deaf wouldn't notice that your music is greatly influenced by oldschool death metal, like Impetigo, Autopsy, Haemorrhage... I guess you've already listened Ultimo Mondo Cannibale to the core?)
Hector - Sure I listened to Impetigo and together Autopsy they are the death metal bands I most respect from Death / Gore next to Mortician. But I have to acknowledge that I am not too much a fan of gore. It seems to me a world of wankers. That “fashion” of nowadays in shows where people come out to a stage making they fuck a inflatable doll in thong seems a stupid thing to me.
In old school death metal I prefer another kind of things: Entombed, God Macabre, DeathStrike, Repugnant, Kaamos, Nunslaughter, Death, first Sinister, Pungent Stench, Verminous, …
Alex – Actually i like to separate music and party above the stage, i mean, i enjoy a goregrind show party and respect all that bands but is something that i shouldn't do at first. Moreover, i love old school gore sound like Impetigo of course, Exhumed, first Carcass and Xysma among others...
I heard a lot about the fact that many bands don't record in the studio (only drums maybe), everything's being recorded at home with a cup of cacao and cookies) How do you prefer to record your material?
Hector - We have always recorded in a recording studio and live. We think that’s the way of recording. It captures perfectly the essence of what is and should be this music: straight forward music with attitude.
Nowadays a lot of people records at home with sound cards. Clear enough you can do that but each one chooses his path. Also most of those bands have never released a demo and their music is directly sold through digital format (MP3), that speaks for itself.
Alex – I prefer to record in a professional studio, at least if it will be a long and tedious recording as an 45 minutes LP. A demo recorded at the site with anyone you know who knows sound enginnering may be a good idea, so still prefer the studio.
Let's talk about splits. Is there a band you would definitely do a split with?
Hector - As a day of today it would be impossible because one is not anymore and the other one is in its farewell tour. Assuck and Brutal Truth!! Because without their records we have never done anything of what we have done, totally clear!!
Why does grindcore and metal go together well with horror movies, in your opinion? A lot of bands were formed in this alliance.
Hector - I think it is because all the people that wanders around extreme music are total freaks. At school we already were the strange people because we wore and listened to a music that didn’t fit in the mass media and that reflects in all the aspects of life.
Alex – Do not know what to answer , we have always been strange people and that kind of hobbies are sometimes associated with strange people; guess what "extreme" refers is within an underworld that only some people like it, and used it all together. And obviously respect the classics!
Is it right for me to say that you don't give a shit about social and political themes, 'cause there is a lot of bands voicing them already?
Hector - You are wrong, politics and social issues are really important. What happens is when you have been doing songs during 10 years about that we think message is clear enough, isn’t? If you focus on our lyrics we go on using politics but in a more complex way, mixing it with horror themes.
I will always be agree with political grinder bands, but it is true that there is a new wave of bands that use politics as cliche, like if you play Grindcore you have to have political issues lyrics without adding anything new, nor an intelligent message, what does it make boring and predictable. Even more, it is too easy write against your government when you get help, money and when you live really well as north european people; I will invite them to all those people to live here to see what is to live deep in the shit like this they will believe their own lyrics.
Alex – In the moment of making lyrics it becomes even depressing to write only, complaining. Instead of complain i prefer laughing and make a satire of what's happening. Parodying the world in our way; if you notice, you'll see the world is a fucking parody of himself, what we have to do is try to survive and if you get it, what you've got is laugh of it all, including oneself
Why Frodo didn't fly on eagles in Mordor and listened to an old fart and went on foot?) (sorry if I just insulted the fans of Lord Of The Rings:))
Hector - Sincerely I don’t really like LOTR. I have never been a fan and I will never be. I am sorry but I don’t know what you are talking about… hahaha! The rest of the band will know for sure but I don’t, dude!
Alex - Cause he sucks.
What do you think about MP3? As far as I know you're huge fans of vinyl, just like me, hehe))
Hector - MP3 is cool but I love vinyl. Obviously I can not take around all the time a turntable when I am walking or driving. I see the Mp3 as fast musical format that allows you to take the music wherever and also to sift out bands and later buy their records.
Alex – Is a good way to have all the music you like to listen in the street for example, but as a choice of listening music, obviously trying to get on LP/CD what you really like.
Time to turn your imagination on. Imagine that you're toxic monster from the depths of swamp. Who's gonna be your first victim and how would you kill him?)
Hector - If I had the chance to become a Toxic Monster I can assure you that no victims will be made… I would declare war to Government!
Alex – Spain would be the first, and the rest of the world i should think about what to do.
By the way, there was a Halloween recently, what costumes were on you? (Or you put on drunkard's costume, just like me?)))
Hector - Here in Galicia we have no tradition, Halloween is a yank tradition. We have our own night (prior to Halloween) called “Noite de Samain” or “La noche meiga” (Samhain). It is an antique tradition from the celt people we come from, where they celebrate the end of the harvest and the start of the long season of darkness and cold.
And that's it! Thank you so much for this conversation! A couple of last words from you here :)
Hector - Thanks you Alex for the interview. GRIND THE SYSTEM!!!!
Alex - Thank you so much for getting interested in us. Cheers from Coruna!
